I think she actually sings "And the sadness of your life Is built upon this lack Of really knowing anyone Or having them know you" |

I could apply this song to so many things it's ridiculous. Hell, to me it sounds like basic human greed, right there. Lie to get what you want. Smile and nod to get what you want. With ANYTHING. Not just drugs or whatever you guys are spouting off. The repeat of "mine, mine, mine" reminds me of a whiny child, which is what that greedy attitude projects. Hahaha. Also, I've seen it a thousand times, where a person is "friends" with someone until they're done, really. They're getting something out of the friendship and that's all it is. Greed, I suppose, could make one feel as though they really don't need a true friend, as they only need to satisfy themselves. So that's what that one line makes me think of as well. So really, how can you guys say, "This song is about..." That sentence starter is annoying. Don't you know the basic structures for a sentence to differ between fact and opinion? Use them. |

| Tool – Flood Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Well no one has said this yet, so I'll say what it makes me think of. Flood, first of all, states basically in itself that water will wash something away. As used in the bible before, to wash away the bad. But the reason this song sounds so biblical is because the bible was already based off astrology. Talking about the different ages in history. "Here comes the water." It is said that the new age of Aquarius is coming soon. We have been in the age of Pisces since something like 135 BC, and the new age is basically the precession(backwards rotation) of the equinoxes, which happens like every 2148 years turning into a new constellation for the next 2k years. Aquarius is the water bearer, kinda like just saying it's coming. "All I knew and all I believed are crumbling images that no longer comfort me. I scramble to reach higher ground, some order and sanity, or something to comfort me." Everything I used to know and set my beliefs in are now just images (symbolisms from astrologies made into religions) falling apart. They are being disproven as it is leaving people restless still, it's no longer comforting to our minds because they are awakening. Scramble to reach higher ground sounds kinda like the quest to keep searching for that thing that will give us rest. "So I take what is mine, and hold what is mine, suffocate what is mine, and bury what's mine. Soon the water will come and claim what is mine. I must leave it behind, and climb to a new place now." I hold on to my possessions, keeping them so close that they suffocate, like aren't being shared at all, being locked away even. But soon, the new age (water, Aquarius) will come and basically take that all away. Through destruction, possibly. So in order to move on, I must leave it all behind. Be content with not having anything. To pretty much rise to a new level of being. "This ground is not the rock I thought it to be." While I can easily see a million interpretations to this line, to me it just stands out as like, he really had no idea what he thought this world was. "Thought I was high, and free. I thought I was there divine destiny. I was wrong." It seems more like he's referring to the general people in this whole song, and what they need to realize. So it'd be like seeing this song through the mass of today's eyes, realizing all this about needing to let go of everything, possessions, religions. Thought I was high and free, could be the self righteous americans, who are christians. So they would be saying, I thought we had it all, even knew what was the correct religion. But I was wrong. "This changes everything." 'This' could mean the previous statement about the realization, or it could even mean to be all this coming on of change. This awareness of change. "The water is rising up on me. Thought the sun would come deliver me, but the truth has come to punish me instead. The ground is breaking down right under me. Cleanse and purge me in the water." The time is drawing near. He makes it sound like drowning, which is like the end. Thought the sun would come deliver me could be like everything thinking Jesus, which is basically the sun, (not just son) would be the savior and they relied on that so the truth is now showing them they were wrong. The ground breaking down, the bible talks about earthquakes and stuff so I can't say what it is but it definitely sounds like the end times kinda deal. It will cleanse the people and purge them, like a flood, washing the "sins" away. Yet still relates to Aquarius bringing this water to bring in the new age. Best thing to keep in mind, you have your own mind. :3 I've just been reading about this and it's made the meaning of the song change from what I used to think, to this. But it's not set in stone as nothing should be, really. But if you want to know more, just look at other mythologies and astrology and see how it all relates. It's interesting, at least. |

| Puscifer – Sour Grapes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Lol sorry, also: "It's always gonna be sour grapes with you boy, until you get right with jesus." Sour grapes could be referring to the greek fable, The Fox and the Grapes. "The protagonist, a fox, upon failing to find a way to reach grapes hanging high up on a vine, retreated and said: "The grapes are sour anyway!" The moral is stated at the end of the fable as: It is easy to despise what you cannot get. " People are going to keep making these rationalizations and "despise what they cannot get" until they realize what others have realized, that having nothing is happiness. Blah, make sense? It's so hard to explain. |

Toolhead86 has it. This song totally relates to everything I've been reading too, and links up with what Indigo Children are and everything. It IS evolution, change. It is made to sound like Revelation verse because maybe he's also aware of what I have read, that the bible is basically based completely off of astrology. Revelations is telling us how the constellations and changes will be in the "end times" The end of the age of Pisces. "But I felt no fear, only comfort, for I was as a child in the womb And she bade me here through yonder portal which looked upon the heavens, and behold! a morning angel' She ascended slowly from far beyond the horizon, her light like a heavenly finger pointing the way" A planet or star is supposed to appear again. Heavenly sounds like it could be another word used for up above. (As he's said in another song, analog time piece, sky wide) "And on yonder wall she traced for me a path which led me fine directions, eight winters to east and behold as my feet landed firmly upon the final winter of the second score." That's what I think that is what it says. But I haven't read anything bout this yet. I do know now that the winter solstice is around December 25, the birth of the Sun, basically. So the final winter could very well be that date they are setting, December 22nd, 2012. Look more up about Orion's belt and Sirius for all that. "The reflections of heaven on earth." Basically saying, the sky is being reflected on earth. Again, look up Orion's belt and Egypt's pyramids for examples of the reflection. Everything before that is the way we, as humans, must live. Basically just going as one with the earth. There will be change and basically righteous could mean enlightened. So, "Righteous are those who look up and sway with the wind, who look down and dance with the shifting of the soil, who swim with the movement of the tides, who seek the truth around them and discover we are and have always been in paradise." So usually, "heaven on earth" sounds like the ultimate peace, because of what heaven has always represented. However, I think heaven on earth was made to tell us that when the sky reflects it's self on earth, that will be when the new age comes, the 5th movement of man, and some will realize this new way of life without anything but the earth. No possessions. No trying to get more and more to make yourself happy. You will be at peace with just you and this earth. "And she spoke again, saying know, my child, that there is no devil seeking to corrupt the hearts of men." Pretty self-explanatory, really. "No evil, save blind faith, ignorance, and the desire for the unprepared to blame others for the devastation left in the wake of change." No such thing as evil, except for what is caused from blind faith, ignorance, and the desire for the ones who were caught off guard and supposed to be in charge when things go wrong blame others for what has happened. "Change, my child. Change is in the heavens. Change is on this earth. Change is all around us, and we are reflections of the divine, we must roll with these changes, for we are these changes." Basically what I said earlier. "Eyes wide open, we must look upon the heavens as a mirror. Wide awake, aware, deeply breathing." Again, referring to the sky as the heavens, just like the bible did, to reflect what they have set up to let us know when this will happen. We will be aware of life, new ways of living, wide awake. "And when the shit comes down, my child, you will be there, a true and holy survivor to inherit the kingdom of god. You will rise above the rumbles of the unprepared to greet the new day, to drink from the sweet fruit of the vine, the water of life, the blood of the risen Christ, my child." Life is light and the water of life is Aquarius, the new age, giving us new life. Blood is life, and the Christ is the innocent, the crystal. Looking into Indigo Children, once again. "Go now, child, tell them all. The ignorant, the blinded by dogma, blinded by faith, the doubters, the nay sayers." Basically, most of the world now. How many of you have already dismissed what I have typed as crazy hippie bullshit? "Tell them all, child, they can not see the kingdom of god, they can not see paradise unfold before them, they can not drink from the chalice which holds the blood of Christ, the water of life, until they get right with Jesus." You should know by now, that they did not mean getting right with the man or god or whatever. Also, I've read that Yahweh was another word for Light. |

| Puscifer – Rev 22:20 Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Or maybe "she" is religion in general. Pray till I go blind, these people are shutting out what is around them and just tunnelvision, praying for shit to happen. "She'll suck you dry" religions often take your money. You go and you're still crying after, you aren't satisfied yet you'll still go back. "Saviours and saints, devils and heathens alike" no matter what, if you're still believing in some kind of person, it won't help. To have peace, man will have to rely on others and themselves. Not figures. And also can't blame things on the devil. Religion has also made people feel guilty "she'll make you weep" and yet they go to it to try to relieve that also. It's not the way though. "My pulse has been rising My temples are pounding The pressure is so overwhelming and building So steady now freddy; I'm ready to blow What is she What is she What is she waiting for?" This I have NO idea, please someone who thinks this song isn't about just sex try to figure it out! |

If there was a song on this album talking about indigo children, basically describing what they will be doing and describing the dawning of the new age, it could be very well that Jesus is not being referred to as the man, as the whole bible is taken too literally in the first place. The beliefs about indigo children is that there will be crystal children after, and indigos will help show people the way and the crystal children will bring back the purity and peace, like Christ tried to teach, and we will move past religion all together. It will be an awakening, so him saying "I know Christ is comin', and so am I," maybe he's just saying he will be awakened too. But yeah, we'll never really know, hehe. Also, I'm thinking kinda that maybe when referring to the "she" it could just be like, greed and dependency money brings. But really, I'm not all that sure what the rest of the song means. |

| I really think the lyrics on this song are wrong, but I've looked for other versions and they're all exactly this. Same format and everything. Copy pasted everywhere. Can someone please figure out the real lyrics! Hahaha. | |

Now that you say it, it does sound like she could be talking about her and her friend or something using Ecstasy. I always thought it said, "We had divine sense to know what to say." Because if you're on E, you talk about anything and everything "speed up truth" and all that jazz. |

| I think the posted ones are correct, Makhno. It doesn't sound like "I need some why" and this was before I ever looked up this song. | |

I love this song so much because well.. in my idea of the song, I relate to it very much. Perphaps this is one of their more obvious songs (if there is a such thing with) but yeah. I think she's talking about how she would do anything and go anywhere for this person, and do whatever to keep him happy, and he would do his part to keep her happy ("well fed"). But he wanted something else that she couldn't be. Whether it's related to sex ("without feathers without urge(?)" it just reminds me of a mindless sex slave. And she felt trapped and had to leave. And it seems to have a tone that indicates that he would be upset. I dunno. That's what it reminds me of. I just love the mood and courage to it. |
