anthony would never write a song about something as petty as not wanting to be on that record label..and those are prolly the only 2 lines in the whole song that you can base that ridiculous theory off of. anthony only writes about big issues in his life like his drug issues, girl issues etc...if he didnt want to be in the band or on that record label..then he would leave..just like he did..not write an incredible song like this one about it..honestly come on kid. ill do some ripping apart..how the hell can you say anthony green is an amateur song writer..if youve followed any of his career and listened to some of his old stuff on translating the name ep you wouldnt think that..every song on that cd has double and triple meanings inside of each song and a lot of the lines like "Taking on seven years that Holy Ghost had left alone Test my arms, kick like crazy, and I’ve been trying way too long. Only pushed the way out to fight you And I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m not sure Getting off my chest, the story ends." those lyrics rite there have no one meaning..hes talking about both battling in a relationship with a girl and battling his relationship with God. ive never heard of any other lyricist tie two meanings so easily into so many songs. even look at the titles to all of his songs..the titles even have so much meaning in them like "They perched on their stilts pointing and daring me to break custom." "They" being his acquaintences that he mentions in the songs, just acquaintences, not real friends, "perched on their stilts" perched, watching over him like birds, on their stilts, meaning they are above him, higher ranking if you will, "pointing and daring me to break custom" calling him out, applying peer pressure and in a sense forcing him to do things that he wouldnt normally do, where he picked up his drug habits. i could go on for years explaining all the meanings especially in when he was with saosin..but thats enough for now pce |

the song isnt just about one single thing. just like his other songs..this one has triple meanings in the lyrics, which is wat makes anthony green such an incredible song writer the lines I've been trying way to long I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm not sure Getting off my chest the story ends I would find a way without you (Tell him his eyes see too clear) Don't treat me I'm to blame Don't treat me like I ever accused you (Sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry) can all be saying things about his feelings towards a girl, the band and god. also in some of his other songs he refers to his drug problems |

(x2) ok the beginning lyrics are all explained well in the other posts and it is definitely about a girl being pregnant..but the part: Now things look lovely to you Holding back, now and forever, sweetheart Now things look lovely Long before midnight and I’ll deny first of all..putting "know" at the start of the lyrics doesnt even make sense..its clearly now. and i agree with soop with the long before because its another reference to the catholic religion..when jesus tells peter that he will deny him 3 times before midnight. and the end of the song "Oh I once saw many place the oath, I promised the world with a dozen roses." hes saying that many people place the "oath" of becoming a father and that he wants to give his son the world and uses "a dozen roses" as a metaphoric gift of the world. |
