| The Waterboys – The Big Music Lyrics | 19 years ago |

The big music is a representation for the devine and the search for it (Ecstasy to come). Something which is so easy (I just stuck my hand up in the air) yet is a life-times ambition (I will always climb the mountain). There is the suggestion that it is a calling, rather than a choice (Something so pure, has called, my Name). There is the idea of not being able to get there. Not being able to reach the mountain. Yet the protagonist says he's half way there (which is said sceptically) but also the lack of believe from the female vocal (you'll never get there). The determination, of the reply. Me - "I'll never be the same". Its the same spiritual calling in a lot of mike scott's songs BTW mana is the name of the food miraculously produced for the Israelites in the desert in the book of Exodus.. |
