First of all I get that this is a story based concept album, but I had a real-world interpretation of it. I get the impression of someone looking back on a time when they were less successful/unrecognized, and they realize that all of the fighting and struggle to get to where they want to be has only led them to the same world that is still falling apart as it was before. |

I think that it means that he looks into a mirror and sees something that he despises but doesnt want to believe it is really him. He wants to destroy what it represents but realises it is actualy him. I dont think that there was an actual event that made alexi write this song, but maybe he sees a monster in himself and wants to destroy it. |
