On the DVD Nancy Whang says that Stephen Dewaele flew to NY especially to see her, but he told the record label that they were going to record a song together so the label would pay for it all... so the song ended up being the "excuse" that they made. |

The last verse should read "Oh solitude, it's so sublime/To swing alone, the choice is mine/To wait while others play/To let my lover wait". This makes me think the song is about saving yourself for the person you love... not necessarily saving your virginity or whatever, but not slutting around while you're apart. |

I'm listening to a live set on the radio, and it sounds like Dan's saying

One of my favourite songs from the new album. I have to disagree with justan though, I think In Ghost Colours is a much better album than Bright Like Neon Love... BNLN was good but patchy, this one sounds more whole. |

The line "Get out, like a blown kiss out of a car" is actually "Get out like a blonde gets out of a car"... and I'm pretty sure it's not "You are my blue girl, you", it's "You are my boogaloo".

No comments for this gorgeous song? I think it's about self-confidence, or lack thereof. The first verse is saying that the girl is strong and can fight back when it looks like the fight is over. The chorus is saying that low self-esteem is all that's holding her back from being her best. The second verse is a little more abstract, but I think what it's saying is that the person singing the song is also holding her back? Particularly the line "You're high above the world, I don't think so/If you're hanging around me girl". Then the last part is about not letting the opinions of others sway you and to just be yourself. |

I read an interview with Sia in which she said that she used to bully a girl when she was younger, and she wrote this song because she felt bad about it. It was co-written with Beck which is kinda cool. |
