In case you haven't noticed, Skillet is featured in iTunes' Christian & Gospel section..all of their albums are featured there. Also, they often go on tour with other Christian artists. You can say this song is about love and a relationship between a guy and girl...but being that they are a Christian band, it would only be about love and a relationship between a guy and a girl if it was a relationship that brought the glory back to God. For that reason, I am going to argue that this song is about God and about God alone because I don't think singing about waking up with a girl is something that is glorifying to God...nor is it something that Skillet would probably sing about either. You can go ahead and get mad and blame Christians for making you angry, but it's hard to deny the facts that surround the song. There is nothin wrong with having your ow interpretation of the song, but denying the true meaning of the song and shutting down those that ascribe to that meaning is not okay. |
