"Keep letting that Jew Jon Stewart pollute your mind with his secular rants. You've been brainwashed."
Hahahahahaha....I don't even need to write a reply to this, it speaks volumes all its own. |

| Tristania – Beyond The Veil Lyrics

As far as I can tell, it is about leaving this plane of existence, and about being beyond worldly cares in the afterlife. The part played by Vibeke (fem vocals) is a woman who has died and found inner peace and bliss beyond the veil of reality. Meanwhile, on the plane of the living, Morten's (male vocals) character is mourning her loss, and seeing her face when he looks in the mirror; in a sense, seeing the part of him he has lost. He begins to wonder if it would be so bad leaving all things behind and joining her in the afterlife.
This is just my interpretation, I have no idea how close I am to the actual meaning of the song. |

A song about despair; about not wanting to continue living, and the thought of death and burial seems to be more appealing than continuing in a pointless life. |

In case you didn't notice, (L)ong (S)ince (D)ark is about psychedelic drug use, and the theory that it will open your mind to broader horizons. Specifically the protagonist is attempting to use the drug to find the meaning of his existence, and "just as the dark sky above had spoke", he seemed to have the answer, and in that brief moment he was free of all worldly concerns....but then it all came to a crashing end, and the secret slipped away. |

This is spoken from the point of the leader of the cult "The Inner Circle" who is telling his assembled flock that he is the Ambassador of God on earth, and that his word is the word of God. |

To add to luso's comment, I read in an interview with Ares in which he stated that Wolfheart was generally inspired by various female figures or ideals in Portugal. Alma Mater of course is about the mother land. |

Lycanthropy. Some of the Portuguese lyrics translate something like "We are wolves who become men, and will become them again." |

He bashes them because he is a Theist with delusions about being smarter than everyone else. Ignore him.
bananaphone pretty much nailed this one. Typically in Nevermore's lyrics religion or God can often be seen as a metaphor for society's well-being in general. To say that there is no God is to say that people have no sense of how to treat one another with compassion. Of course, the simpler anti-religion interpretation is also somewhat valid in itself, and this multi-facted perspective is what makes Dane truly the greatest lyricist in metal today. |

At this point in the DNB story, WD's nightmares have become too frequent and vivid to be ignored, and as he spirals into suicidal depression from the lost love, he is no longer able to concentrate on the things he is passionate about. |
