I tend to agree with kinnikuman. The problem is the interpretation of the sentence "You wanted it so much and now that it's over. You don't know what you want." To me I interpret it as both just meet up (I'd like to take you as I FIND you) and they instantly have a great chemistry. It seemed the girl has invited the boy to her room. But as the night getting late, the girl still don't want to open up her heart. She is kind of nervous, may be because she just got over a bad relationship. So the guy is like saying: You should open the universe inside your heart to me so then you could feel more relax. I know that you want me so much. I know that deep down in your heart you really want to believe in me / this relationship. If you still aren't sure, you better get sleep. But let me tell you, when you wake up later, I will be already gone. And it would be too late to say all the words that you should have told me tonight. You will lost in loneliness (you want me so much, and now I'm gone, you don't know what you want anymore). |

So interesting that this song has different meaning to many people. To me, the refrain tells the main story of this song, plain and simple: a man that has kept his feeling toward a girl and about to give up that feeling. I give forever to touch you - I give up to show my love, since he believes that he has done enough that she should already know his intention. Even now he feels that being close to her is comparable to being in heaven, so she is the closest to heaven that he ever be. Actually he still wants to be around, doesn't want to "go home" right now. But, he feels that he has done anything he knows to show his love to the point that everything seems like a movie - too much. He doesn't want to overdo it (to bleed just to know you're alive). So sooner or later, he would give up to touch her. The refrain tells that he only wants the girl to be the only one to 'recognize' his love. Doesn't need anybody else to do so (I don't want the world to see me) - since they will judge him, they won't understand what he feels toward her. And since there's nothing last forever (made to be broken).. Since he won't be around forever. Since that he or she might die someday, in this lifetime he wants her to realize about his feeling. About his love. About his sincerity. I just want you to know who I am. This song is pretty much about that. |

since this song's dedicated to Gravilo Princip -- i think this song is about the assassin of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which then triggered World War I that makes the part: "The stab of stilettos On a silent night Stalin smiles and Hitler laughs Churchill claps Mao Tse-Tung on the back" becomes more make sense... Still.. this song is one of my favorite |
