I think this song is good. It is catchy and cool sounding to me. I especially like when they say "east and west horizon". I have had it stuck in my head along with March Into The Sea for the past 2 days. It is also sort of nice to see a semi-positive song (at least to me, that is what Dashboard is about). If you don't care for the music, then don't listen to it. No one (probably) is forcing you to listen to it. MM has produced wonderful albums before (in my opinion), and I will continue to listen to them. I also like where they are headed, and will listen to new music as well. I am not really a 'from the beginning' fan, but I still enjoy it oodles. Does that mean that 'from the beginning' fans enjoy it more? I DON'T CARE. I like listening to it, how much other people enjoy it hardly makes a difference to my audio experience. Music is entirely subjective. Some people like what others don't. That is what humans do. Automatically discrediting someone for liking/not liking Good News, is just wrong. That fact is, Good News exists, and those who want to listen to it can. Just listen to what you want. To me this song is about a guy (the narrator), who likes a girl but just sits idle until someone else comes and makes a serious commitment with her. He is sad that them staying with "another together" forever, he will "never" have a chance again. Just my opinion and what I think of while listening to the song. Great song. |
