John Lennon – Watching The Wheels Lyrics 19 years ago
'Watching The Wheels' was created by John during a time in his life when he was a stay-at-home Dad with his new son, Sean. While people weren't exactly 'worried' about his lack of musical creation as of late, John just - wrote a song. It was written during a particular time when he was on a TV binge, (more specifically, and slightly comically, the popular, religious late-night television program, 'The 700 Club'.)

John Lennon – God Lyrics 19 years ago
'God' was the ultimate culmination of John's more hurt and battered feelings after his gut-wrenching primal therapy. He penned the entire 'Plastic Ono Band' album after this particular therapy and this track finds him lashing out at anything that may have angered him (the thought of a higher being, i.e. God), hurt him (the falling out of his Beatles and the bad blood between himself and the other three in concerns with the band's legal matters), and things that even may have just slightly annoyed him at one time or another (butter, the real lyric in place of Buddah, above).

While its possible to decipher some of the more lyrical and music lines in the song, ("I was the Walrus/Now I'm John..." ect.), the chunk in the middle of the song was actually a piece of John's therapy, which is based on not only realizing the objects that have been/are hurting you, but admitting that they've caused you pain and moving on from there.

This song was the lyrical knife that cut away the Beatles era of his life and helped him (like his therapy) to move on to the John Lennon solo era of his life.

John Lennon – Give Peace a Chance Lyrics 19 years ago
John wrote this song after falling in love with one of his own comments during a media interview, "All we're saying is give peace a chance."

So, at he and Yoko's 'Bed-In For Peace' during a stay in peaceful Canada, John, a few close friends, and many loving crowd people recorded the song on a simple recorder Lennon had picked up down the street.

John Lennon – Crippled Inside Lyrics 19 years ago
This song appeared on John's 'Imagine' album and was a sharp contrast to 'Imagine', (the track that sat just before 'Crippled Inside' on the album). It followed in a suit that matched the rest of the album. John commented on the success of 'Imagine', "In order to get your message across, you just have to sugarcoat it, I know that now."

He re-channeled the darker emotions that his primal therapy had stirred up, (that had riddled his first solo album, 'Plastic Ono Band'), and sweetened them with Billy Preston's saloon-style piano and a light-hearted tune, masking them just as he did his more political feelings on the previous track, 'Imagine.'

Guns N' Roses – November Rain Lyrics 19 years ago
'November Rain' was a song that singer Axl Rose wrote after being inspired by a short story from author Del James. The story was called 'Without You' and chronicled the turbulant relationship between a blues artist and his beautiful lover. Both have a heavy drinking habit and the story climaxes when the singer discovers his lover dead by her own hand - with one of his more depressing tracks playing on her stereo.

Guns N' Roses – Right Next Door To Hell Lyrics 19 years ago
This track kicks off Use Your Illusion I, and is an explosive representative of the album's overall persona - With its fiery cover and pummeling lyricism.

'Right Next Door' to hell is said to be partly inspired by Axl Rose's less-than-accomadating neighbors, who complained so much about his loud parties and deafening music, that one morning he hurled a half-empty beer bottle at a woman as she stood on her doorstep.

The Beatles – Good Morning Good Morning Lyrics 19 years ago
The song was actually a half-tribute to Brian Wilson and the rest of his Beach Boys. The entire Sgt. Pepper Album was a result of a friendly musical 'feud' between the Beatles and Beach Boys.
Brian Wilson, songwriter for the Boys, was on a brief hiatus after having a breakdown during a plane trip to yet another concert show, and he decided to pick up the just-released 'Rubber Soul' album. Upon hearing it he instantly penned the lyrics for The Beach Boys greatest album, 'Pet Sounds.'
The Beatles, after hearing Brian's beautiful lyricism and the overall meloncholy-heavy mood of 'Pet Sounds', went right to work on Sgt. Pepper and dedicated a piece of it to their inspiration by filling the end of 'Good Morning, Good Morning' with - pet sounds.
Pretty neat, huh?
