I'm pretty sure this is one of the songs Pete wrote after his girlfriend cheated on him twice in the same weekend. I think the "take your taste back..." part means take everything that you did back. This song is really good, and I do agree with those who say you can't really truely love fall out boy unless you've had your heart ripped out, because those are probably the people who can relate to them the most. This is by far my favourite song by fall out boy |

Ohh my goodness, this song is about love/jealousy. This is about how he's trying to get over a girl, where they were never really together. The shores & waves line means that he's begging her for second chances, something like that The "Im writing letters to addresses in a ghost town" line means he's writing all these empty songs/notes letters, to or about her but throwing them out, keeping them hidden. The "you're secrets out" means that something that she lied about, that tore them apart came out in the open, maybe she cheated. The chorus basically sums up that they're breaking up for the best, and he's trying to let her "secret" out, out of spite. Then the second verse basically means that this girl's perception of guys, is that they're immature and doing stupid things without thinking. Then the line thats spoken, is saying how he used to have a life and now all he's concerned about is trying to get over her/ back at her, and asking her if she likes those other boys she slept with compared to him. Then the spoken part at the end means that how all his worst break up fears came true, and how now he's just waiting around to die/ because of that he's being called scene, emo. |

So Im pretty sure that meaning of the video has nothing to do with committing suicide, and everything to do with a hidden meaning. How else would they get together in the end, I dont think they're talking abotu they're "afterlife". No Im pretty sure the whole video is based on a quote, (not sure what it exactly is offhand) but it means that people are stuck in their own world - hense the fish tanks. And all the fish in the tank represent the number of people she's slept around with. And how she's so focused on them, that she didn't realize how much she "killed" the guy. So dumping out the water in the tank, is the part where she tells the guy she was cheating on him and then the whole end of the video is about them being free and being able to truely be together and being open in honest. |

I agree with who ever said these lyrics are wrong. I thought it was "got postcards from a former sin" and the "miserable and stunning" line was "its a miserable story. Hahaha wow settle down. Isnt this "songmeanings.com" not "dissthesongs.com"? Anyways, kudos for joy division for writing this song, its amazing. Its so true. Because its like the doubt of a relationship,a breakup. BUT I do have to say that I really like Patrick's voice wayy better in the cover. It kinda sounds like the singer from joy division is just using a synthesizer and isnt really singing. Even though I kinda have to admit its a bad cover, BUT Patrick can sing. And Im not really into techno 80s bands. So I think I like Patricks version better, even though its a bad cover and even though you cant really compare it I dunno. I can see why people are mad though if you're into the techno 80s and hate "emo" bands even though Fall out boy isnt really but w.e. |

Why didnt anyone mention "tongues" when everyone was talking about the pervertedness crap. Duh, she's speaking in tongues in that line. This is by far one of the greatest worship songs I've ever heard. How can it be a love song for a guy. First of all if it was, this line doesnt make sense "my hands are searching for you, my arms are outstreched towards you" how does that fit a love song for a guy. This song describes where I am at perfectly. Like with God, with this guy, life. I wish I wrote it, heres why: Last year I really liked this guy, for about a year. We were really good friends, and I was praying he was "the one". We went on a few dates and that and hung out a lot as friends. We had a lot of good memories together with our picnics, and laying under the stars, etc. He liked me on and off, but we agreed to keep things casual because we were young, but I was sure I was in love. I was just as sure he was "the one". We are both Christains, so we had God in our relationship. Although along with all of these great memories, alot of bad things happened. One of my friends died and of course, the day that came when I realized I really was too young to love. During that summer, the both of us went to this church service, and there was a prophet, and this kind of reminds me of the line "dread the wait for stupid calls returning us to life" because what the prophet said really brought the both of us back down to earth and right with God. Then the fall came, and the day I realized you can't love so young. It turned out that this guy I thought I was so in love with, ended up getting in a serious relationship with another girl,something I was kind of parinoid about. All when I thought he was "waiting" for a serious relationship with me. Now we dont really talk, and I wish we did, it kind of reminds me of the line "Im praying we will see something there inbetween...." because we don't really talk anymore. He's still with this girl, but we dont talk at all. I wish we could and did. Not to prolong my "life story" lol but it goes so perfectly with the song it amazes me. If you guys want to know what the songs about, the story I just told about me is pretty much what the song is about. With only 2 lines I need to add. the line "pretty neighborhoods, you learn to much to hold" I think means that a lot of people learn too much to hold on with there childhood and memories and that Jesus can bring you peace though all of that. No, no no!! You guys are all wrong. Although the God speakign to us theory makes sense, Im positive this song is about a guy rejecting her. The first verse goes on about how she really likes this guy, and she's saying that she wants to "meet" or date w.e him again, before one of them have to leave somewhere and never see eachother again. The chorus is self explainitory. He likes every other girl but her, and doesn't feel one bit of guilt about it. And she's left waiting for this guy who will never love her back.I think the part where it says "when will you get back to me..." means that maybe he liked her at one point, maybe he's an ex. The second verse I think is just a figure of speech about how they're soulmates. How she thinks he's her "other half" ("when will you recognize the beat of my own heart making your blood flow, so your chest can rise and fall"). Maybe its just a line meaning that she helps him. And the part "you will never know what you have done to me" etc. is the part where she expresses her hurt/anger towards this guy who's rejecting her. And how she's saying that she will never let go and always love him, and that he'll never be alone. And then at the end when it says "when you choose me, Im waiting for you, always waiting" I think is the line where she says that she'll always love this guy and how she'll always be waiting. I also think this song might be a less better version then the song "so I thought" if my meaning of this song is correct |
