| Mastodon – Bladecatcher Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Everytime I hear this song I think of a "boss battle" where Bladecatcher is a boss that the hero has to defeat before moving on to the "next level." Anyway, it's fucking class. | |
| Tool – 10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

"Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one, and they all stink." We've all heard that phrase countless times. I'm aware that there are many Tool fans who dig Aenima and Lateralus, but don't care too much for Undertow as a whole. This is understandable as those three albums are decidedly distinct and different from each other. The fact of the matter is, Undertow, Aenima and Lateralus have come and gone. They are all ground that has been traversed and navigated, and when those explorations were completed, Tool moved on to new things and never went back. Can you not at least respect them for constantly moving forward, regardless of how you estimate their work? It is true that Tool's latest album has polarized and divided their fanbase, but it was bound to happen sometime. Let's pretend they played it safe and stuck with what they knew, eventually people would start bitching that all their shit sounds the same. When Tool or any other band releases an album unlike its predecessors, especially something unexpected, based on their style, there ARE going to be those that dislike it and become disillusioned with the band. Yes, Tool is a commercial band; they are a product of American society, as are we all(those in America, that is). They know how to make money and they do it, but on top of that they apply themselves to their work. Those fucks in the indie scene who are so self-deluded that they eschew all media backing and think they can rely on "word-of-mouth" to proliferate, after a while wonder why the fuck they're still starving in obscurity, it's because their shit sucks, but they can't realize it. But then when these same shitty bands go the way of the major label, they have a clear desire to earn money and we, the public, get the All American Rejects and their talentless ilk. *shudder* Shit sells, as MTV and the billboard charts can attest. Back on topic, Tool is a talented band that desires to make money. Yet they continue to take risks with their music. In the end, they know their position is secure enough to take those risks and still rake in assloads of money. Personally, I enjoy each Tool album objectively. Everyone has the right to disagree, but to impugn others for their tastes is pointless and stupid. Like FoE said, you're not going to alter anyone's position. And about the shirt thing, sure you're wearing an insult on your chest, but so many people are aware of the band nowadays that nobody really cares, and those that do are just elitist asswipes. People who love a band are going to wear the band's shirts, bottom line. Rebuking them for that reason is also pointless and stupid. Whew, I'm done for now |

| Tool – 10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The beauty of Tool and an album like 10,000 days is, the more you listen to it, the better it gets and the more you grow to love it. unspeakably beautiful and Maynard's voice sounds This particular song is almost otherworldy. Thank goodness for Maynard, Adam, Justin and Danny. So much better than the rampant bullshit that's passed off as music these days. | |
| Tool – Hooker with a Penis Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| For the longest time I thought Maynard was saying "fuck you Reagan" instead of "my new record", at the end of the song. Oh well, I still sing it that way. XD | |
