Cold War Kids – Something Is Not Right with Me Lyrics 17 years ago
Didn't like this song when I first heard it, but's it's really grown on me.

What's with the beginning though? It sounds like some French techno stuff going on.

Cold War Kids – Saint John Lyrics 17 years ago
It's about a boy who is waiting to be pardoned from death row for (accidently) killing his sister's would-be raper.

Is raper a word?

I love the "Tell My Sister Jane" in the background. That backup singer could be the lead singer in just about any other band.

Buckcherry – Sorry Lyrics 17 years ago
SoggyJohnson is completely right. Normally, I wouldn't write a comment on a song to say how bad it is, but this song sucks.

In an English or Creative Writing class, one might learn about "repitition for effect," but Buckcherry over does it with "I'm Sorry." I bet SoggyJohnson was right about the amount of times they said "I'm Sorry."

The rhymes in this song are so forced and are terrible. "When I see you cry/it makes me want to die." Really? That's a rhyme a third graders could come up with some.

Everything about this song is cliche and boring. The drumming is boring, the guitars are boring, the singing is predictable and the guy's voice is nowhere as good as he seems to think it is. The repitition is horrible.

This is the absolute worst song to get stuck in your head. It'll drive you crazy.

Cold War Kids – We Used to Vacation Lyrics 17 years ago
Straight out of the album's lyric book:

"BETH'S recital I had to run
Missed my son's graduation
Punched the NICHOL'S boy for taking his seat
He gets all that anger from me"
&
"I promised to my wife and children, I'd never touch aanother DRINK as long as I live/But even then, it sounds so soothing to mix a GIN and sink into oblivion"
I know he says gin, and I think it's that way because it sort of (slant) rhymes with "oblivion."

This song is definently about a recovering alcoholic dad.

I love how the Cold War Kids doesn't just write about love. There songs are like story books (that aren't so happy). For example "Passing the Hat" is about stealing from the Church so he can move to the Baltic area and "Hospital Beds" is about uncurable disease.

Panic! at the Disco – Do You Know What I'm Seeing Lyrics 18 years ago
Are these reall the new lyrics, or are they just a piece of a whole song. God I hope it's just a piece.

Death Cab for Cutie – I Will Follow You Into the Dark Lyrics 18 years ago
"I Will Follow You Into the Dark" is what "Hey There Delilah" wants to be when it grows up.

Panic! at the Disco – When the Day Met the Night Lyrics 18 years ago
I think the moon and sun are supposed to be synonyms for a guy and a girl. Then the rest of the song would be kinda self-explanitory.

What's with the new P!ATD writing style?

And if this is for the new CD, where do people find these lyric?

The Southland – Good Grief Lyrics 18 years ago
I love the way the lyrics flow and how they are sung. Some of my favorite lyrics ever.

I think the narrator has just recently broken up with a longterm girlfriend and now is filled with grief. He's also jealous that she's moved on, but he can't. He despises his girlfriends "other man"/new boyfriend, and thinks that she's lowered her standards by going out with that man. The song also deals with the narrator's actions in the period of time immiediately after the break-up.

This is easily my favorite song by the Southland. However, I don't think it's perfect. I don't really like the three minutes of just music after two minutes of singing. The extra music without an singing kind of drags out the song. However, it does sound like a feeling of gloom that the narrator would be expirencing.

Panic! at the Disco – Do Not Judge Us by How We Act, Judge Us by How We Feel Lyrics 18 years ago
I'm liking the lyrics the lyrics to this song than the other songs that are posted on this website and our supposedly for the new CD.

I think if the song's title was "Don't Just Us By How We Look, But by How We Act" instead of what it is, it might sum up the meaning of the song better.

Cold War Kids – Hospital Beds Lyrics 18 years ago
I was looking at the booklet that comes with the CD. It isn't "Vietnam fishing trips, Italian opera." It's "Vietnam, fishing trips, Italian opera." Vietnam and fishing trips aren't related at all.

joliechose has an actual comment on the song from someone who'd know, so I guess she's the one to believe.

However, the song kind of sounds like to me that it could be two comrades who were both injured fighting in Vietnam and were recalling good times.

My other thought is that two people met each other by chance serving in Vietnam, became friends, and then were in some kind of accident that left them in the same hospital room together and now they're recalling the good times they had.
