i always thought that this song was about her being scared to be this guys "only one" he wants to be her everything, be her romeo and make everything perfect and although she likes him, she is just not ready for a commitment of that proportion. she still just wants to have fun and be young, shes fickle and doesn't want to be with just one guy no matter how perfect he may be
it's a common theme in much of her earlier work.. think back to I'm like a bird.. she is aware that she doesn't want to be with one person.. she wants to be free and fly and find her soul |

yeah this song is great. i think it's about a friend who decided they needed to go off and find themself and the song is from the perspective of a friend of the person who needs to get away (do you follow?) the writer is letting the friend know that thy are willing to give them space and that whenever the friend is ready he/she will still be there. the writer is happy that he/she is ready to be comfortable in he's/her own skin yet is still upset becausethe ohter way for him/her to do this is to get away..... i wish my friends were that understanding (sorry is that was confusing lol i hope you got it) |
