The song, to me, means that we as people should never stop seeking the meaning behind everything. He says, "for the rest of my life" so I believe it's about a turning point in the life of someone. We, as humans, should never stop questioning and challenging ourselves. When you find what you're looking for, find faith in that. Having faith in something (not just religion) and fighting to pass your ideas on to the future. |

| This song is terrific. One hell of an opening to the new album. My veiw is the song could fit different situatuions in the world... I picked Rawanda as an example. The western countries allowed genocide to take place instead of stepping in. Rawanda had no real profit. If we went there, all we would be losing is money. The song reaches out to politicans, challenging them to step up and take the side of those in need. Daylight dies refers to how it is never to late to change things for the better. Excellent song. | |

I've heard this song before and thought nothing of it. When I was on Youtube, I saw a music video of this song put to Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes cutscenes. The lyrics fit perfectly with the theme of the game. I know that it was probably written with some correlation to religion, however it shares the same sort of idead with MGSTTS. Solid Snakes finds out about his past. That he was never born... just a genetic clone of Big Boss... Solid Snake was just one of three. Now, this would probably make anyone freak out. But once Snake realized that genes do not determine who you are rather the choices we make do, he made the choice to keep fighting. The song is a positive look at being delustioned for so long then finally understanding the truth... and continuing to carry on the fight. just my opinion. |
