Okay peeps, it can either be very, very simple, or it can be very complicated; here's my interpretation. She's deeply in love with a boy with green eyes. She smiles when she thinks about him, but there's a catch somewhere. When you love someone, you usually put yourself down and you feel like you're not good enough for them. You dress nicely, but it isn't enough. You feel imperfect: "And all of my clothes feel like somebody's old throwaways... I don't like it -" "-It's good to be in love It really does suit you Just like everything I'm happy you're in love Cause every colour goes where you do." The catch: Now we find that he loves someone else. But she loves him so much that she puts his happiness before hers. It makes her happy that he's happy, in love - it suits him. When you're in love, your heart beats faster, you feel faint, just weak in general: "I'm black and blue all over... you're breaking my flow -" But of course, she's invisible to him: "- how could you know what I'm saying about it?" This whole thing is really hurting her; she wants to stop loving him, but she just can't make this feeling stop: "I feel so powerless, I I've got to stop it somehow Oh, come on, what can I do? (Why's it happening?) How's it happening without me? How's it happening that he feels it without me?" And so, he's experiencing this joy, this love, without her. And she's experiencing love too... but it's not returned. This song could be about a high school crush, a broken relationship, and deeper. It may have many hidden symbols in it. But this is the best interpretation I can think of. I'm sort of experiencing it myself... yeah, I love this song. :) |

This is such a beautiful song. It's really catchy and different. I burned this on a CD and brought it to school, and everyone loved it. As for the meaning, I agree with zeroangel, and all the other comments that say it's religious. I didn't notice it at first but now it makes sense. |

I totally agree with some of the comments on here - this is totally about unrequited love. I LOVE this song so much, because I can really apply it to myself. There's a special someone I've fallen head over heels for, but has no idea whatsoever. In fact, he's in a relationship, which puts all the more sense into this song. What's scary too, is that he has green eyes (cucumber eyes). I'm adoring you, it's all good You're so beautiful, I'm black and blue all over You're breaking my flow How could you know what I'm saying about it? Ahaha, I actually had no idea what this was about until I saw on Immy's website that this is about Alien Abduction. With that in mind, you can now see clearly that it is. She's obviously talking to a small child (Sunbeam), telling her to stop tugging and listen closely. She's going to make the child's dreams come true by showing her that spaceships or whatever really DO exist. And they're not going to go back to reality ("leave it, I won't go back"), because "what do THEY know"? (the "they" probably referring to the nonbelievers) She's seen them and them and she knows they're real.
