this song really is amazing live. i just saw them september 8th. the way brandon puts so much intensity into his singing is amazing. i was front & center and you really cannot take your eyes off him. he sings from the depths of his heart in this song. it was pouring down rain & lightening and he was leaning on an old milk crate (a prop for the setting on stage), everyone singing their hearts "let me show you how much i care!" with lighters. it was amazing. = ]] |

i totally agree that this song is probably about war. but, it doesn't necesarily have to do with the current war...literally. i think it can be taken in different ways or war in general. i almost immediatly thought about the 1960's and vietnam...and drafting (young soldiers). especially at the end when when he screams "Big shot screaming put your hands in the sky He says "Give it up boy, give it up or you're gonna die You'll get a bullet in the back of the neck In the back of the neck Right between the eyes" i thought about the police ending organized protests so violently in that era. |

i, as many others think as well, that its all about love and the good and the bad that she puts him through. he keeps coming back for more to fill the void in his heart, "she puts the weight into my little heart". plastic surgery? come on now. i dont understand the lyric "you'll go stabbing yourself in the neck" ? id like to think its a metaphor. has anyone seen the video. the girl in it is very eerie. |
