Oh, i forgot to mention above ^ i think the Billy the Kid references are because he had similar things with Fred Hampton Jr. A) They were both killed without a trial B) Billy fought to stand up for the city people in his area like Fred fought for the Black Panther Party. so yeah. =] |

I tried to interpret this song as well as i could: The DA is dressed to the nines [DA = district attorny and dressing to the nines means dressing perfectly; very well.] In the mirror, he practises all his lines To his closing argument, twelve hearts beat in favour [Twelve hearts because there are twelve people in a jury] I'm guessing he read, the morning paper The headline reads 'The Man Hangs' But the jury doesn't. [The man hangs but the jury doesnt means the mans already dead [because they killed Fred without a trial], but the jury didnt get a chance to even do anything.] -- And everyone's looking for relief United States versus disbelief Mothers cast tears on both sides of the aisle [on the defendants side and the prosecutors side] Clear your throat and face the wall The verdict falls like bachelors for bad luck girls [the verdict comes out as clear as the fact that bachelors married to a bad-luck girl will divorce] Only breathing with the aid of denial -- Case open, case shut But you could pay to close it like a casket [Casket = coffin. meaning the police killed Fred Hampton Jr without a trial, so there really is no case because its dead.] Baby boy can't lift his head, he can't Isn't it tragic? [I think baby boy is referring to Billy the Kid because like Fred, was killed without a trial] -- He glances at his peer sitting seven to twelve Sacked on one to six The gallery is hushed [He's looking at the jury and everyone is quite, waiting for the verdict.] -- Boys in three pieces dream of grandstanding and bravado [Three pieces = tuxedo: pants, vest, jacket. and they dream of being capable of showing courage and keeping it.] The city sleeps in a cell [The black community in the US is behind bars] Not withstanding what we all know They hang on a rope or bated breath Whichever you prefer -- And everyone's looking for relief A bidding war for an old flame's grief The cause, the kid, The cause, the charm [Once again, Billy the Kid. Although he was a criminal, his charm made people like him.] -- Fresh pressed suit and tie Unimpressed birds sing and die [The definition of a bird is also a person, so people are waiting either with joy or loss of hope] Can talk my way out of anything The foreman reads the verdict: "And the above entitled actions, we find the defendent, Guilty, guilty, guilty" The whole song is about Fred Hampton Jr. along with refrences to Billy the Kid. I think its all a twist...like maybe what would have happened if Fred Hampton Jr had a trial..im not really sure. =\ i need to go back and re-read it more. |

| Pathway To Providence – Flagler Boys Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I agree. I think its just about bullying, and that the bully used to get through to the students, but (s)he no longer does. "Apprehensive judgement will lead to your downfall So get down and beg and pleade You best bite your tounge your words don't mean a thing" "We are worthless and you enjoy this A step closer to highschool glory and fame So let's ignore this and let's enjoy this In five years you'll amount to nothing at all" The students realized to just ignore the bully and enjoy the fact that people like him/her wont get anywhere in life if they behave that way. Although they may be 'all that' in highschool, when adulthood comes, they'll just crash and burn. btw, PTP is going to get huge. =]] |

| Pathway To Providence – Mess with the fro, you gotta' go Lyrics | 19 years ago |

FINALLY lyrics are up. I've been searching everywhere for Pathway To Providence lyricss ^^ anyways, this is my favorite song by them. This and Flager Boys. Anyways, i think this song is pretty straight forward; about a fight. "And I’m the only one that stands between the mastermind and his new plan The wind is blowing in my air and I’m staring at the edge and I’ve come too far" I think the first sentence shows that the person was the only one who actually stuck up for himself/someone else and he realizes he's took everything a step too far. "I’ve come too far for this you see, to let you get away from me" He's already gotten into the fight and wont let the opponent get away because of the hassle he's gone through. I think it all fits in well with the other lyrics, but im not sure. |
