hmm, after reading arguments on all these songs about whether or not trhice is a christian band, i have to say this even worse. i don't see any way this could really have relavence to the abortion topic, i mean an abortionist wearing gloves? come on. we could take it a step further and go all vegan and say that butcher never works with out his gloves and that the cattle bleed the same red blood that we do. maybe so fucken flowers bleed red too, some one should reserch that. the opening line in this song make me belive that this song is in fact about our president and the war and the corruption involved therein. i think you abortion nuts should go talk that shit with the guy that this song is really about, i hear he feels pretty strongly about that topic too. |

i love reading these things for thrice songs. you all get an A. your all right in some way, this song is one that can be interpereted in many different ways. makes me wonder if written such a way. like knowing the way people would interperet certain lines and intenionally sticking shit to make you think in the songs. all i know i wish i could write lyrics like that. the war theories make a lot of sense as the lyrics do correspond with that theme, but then again the theories about it being about hospitals and health care also seem to be spot on with the song. even the comments about this songg being about herion or drugs (although i don't really agreee) also make sense. lastly, the suicidal idea seems quite probable too, i don't know this has anything do with this, but on dustin's solo myspace page he lists "To Write Love on Her Arms" as his second top friend. |

i can see how the lyrics would be interpereted in a religious way. in fact out of most of the thrice song on here with comments posted about them, this would be one that i would most closly relate to religious beleifs, in a way that one feels such a strong bond with god, and that they feel so much love from this higher being and they feel that owe the same love and devotion back to god. as for whoever says "oh i hope they're not a religious band." grow the fuck up. if they wrote this good of music giving praise to ala or the jew god or whatever damn hindu fucken buddha thing, i'd still still listen to it. don't mean you to agree with it. i have no problem with a christian band that is actually good, with the money grubbing jews in sho bizness especially.any one bags on bands just for being christian needs to listen to emery and hopesfall and then try talking some shit cuz those bands are seriously awesome and because they belive something that you don't you wouldn't give them a chance. i used to lose respect for bands with gays in them when i was little, but after i turned 12 i learned that the music is all that matters. i listen to say anything and i'm dont belive in their jew crap, and i listen to a lot of rap too, just because they're into being black and doing drugs and killing people, doesnt mean i have to be too. |

if this song really is written in relevance to the holocaust, that doesn't mean that every line has to be directly related. that is why we have so many different musicians and artists of every type, if every damn songwriter just wrote their songs litarally about one theme with out any symbolism or hidden meanings or other types of litarary devices, music would be pretty damn boring. |

i think its pretty damn awesome that the lyrics to this song are that well written that while they were written mainly to describe the creative process that they went through with this album, different people can relate in a powerful way on many levels. before reading the post before me i also thought this song was writtten about the experience of a friend battling addiction. correction of my first line in the post, not only are the lyrics so well written, the music is also. i think that helps different people get the different messages from this music. |

im pretty sure ironical isnt a word my history teacher used to say that all the time at nite school, but anyway, these lyrics are great..... if they were written by an eigth grader alone in his bedroom after skool. i like it tho because it reminds of my first girlfriend she had awesome big brown eyes and her name was rachel, and as we lived 20 minutes away and neither of drove, there were only a few times when we really got to be with eachother outside of school or on the phone. god i feel like im in 8th grade post in my LJ. haha had to many beers i might need sleep. |

and since we're both awake,
lets sit up and talk about the last three years,
she said,
"i guess, let's drink this bottle like it's medicine to our heads and fall asleep we'll have headaches in the mornin..."
oh i hope i dont overdose on empty promises and beautiful pictures of the one i should have had,
i can't possibly deal with that. ---awsome |

wow fifteen year olds need to go back to boy bands... this shit is too deep for y'all. suckas need go bump some "bye, bye. bye." but about the song let me say from experience that its funny as hell when ur ex girl tries to replace you with a fake, a poseur who is like " the second best thing" compared to to the one they had before.but you tend to miss the old days before it came to that. |

belive13, you should do just a lil research before you post about the meaning of a song, the lyrics to this song were posted on this in April of 2004, John Beatz (god rest his soul.) was killed in an accident in November of 2005. I don't see how this song was written about that event. |
