I havent read any of the othe comments but this is my interpretation: Basically its in the middle of the Rapture/end-of-world and a "believer" of (im guessing) christianity is talking to a "non-believer" and trying to convince him to become a christian so he can go to heaven. But in the second verse the believer starts shunning the non-believer and acts like hes too good for the non-beliver and that verse shows how the power easily corrupted that believer and totally changed him, kind of like our goverment is now (hopefully i made that clear). Also i think the chorus is almost a mockery of people singing in a church service in order to praise their God. OR!!!! Maybe instead of the believer trying to get the non-believer to be a follower, maybe the believer is really a person of power (like the pres) and he is almost acting as a God, or at least is being portrayed as one in the song, and how he turns from trying to get the person to follow, to getting corrupted by power and telling him hes not good enough and to get into his place. |

| Maybe its how one person is coping through desperate times they are having and they are looking for the answer through God. Also that the only thing the person needs anymore to get through the desperate times is their faith and God. | |
| Killswitch Engage – The Arms of Sorrow Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think that this song's meaning is about someone trying to hide their sorrow from something bad happening to them (for instance, a close on dieing) After trying to hide the sorrow and anguish the person is trying to find an escape or the serenity of getting over the sorrow but they keep going back into the "darkness" (sorrow) and they cant keep from going back into the darkness. |
