Last Lights – DESTROY WHAT DESTROYS YOU Lyrics 16 years ago
i think the meaning of this song is pretty clear cut, so i won't bother ranting.
i'm just so surprised to see that there are ZERO comments on all of these songs, because for me dom's lyrics never fail to hit home pretty hard.
rest in peace Dom, every day i try and spread the word on this short but heartfelt discography.

Heavy Heavy Low Low – Supernova Ninja Surfers Lyrics 17 years ago
this song's just full of really fucked up imagery and awesomely trippy lyrics, not quite sure what it means but it's incredible.

i love the last line.

Heavy Heavy Low Low – R4TB3LLY Lyrics 17 years ago
my take on this is that it is about california and it's crime rate. the reason of it being cali is cause heavylow is from there, but it could be about the united states as well, because tying in with the line "vacation capital here", America was the place to come if you want to escape religious prosecution or just come to a place that cherishes freedom and liberty. or at least we used to, which show's his disgust with where he's at.

not quite sure if i'm making sense, but i've once again been mindfucked by listening to turtle nipple twice through tonight.

robbie's lyrics are incredible.

Sublime – Had A Dat Lyrics 17 years ago
i don't think that this song is about addiction, considering it's one of the first songs they recorded. this was on the Jah Won't Pay the Bills cassette.

i think it's just about anxiety in general, and the way people cope in this life with so much stress in their brain.

i think this is bradley's best work, lyrically

Heavy Heavy Low Low – Mall-Nutrition Lyrics 18 years ago
i think it's about anxiety in general, and having bad paranoia.

it could relate to drug induced paranoia or just him knowing he did something he shouldn't have done.

Gorillaz – M1 A1 Lyrics 18 years ago

Me And Him Call It Us – Innocent Bystanders Watched In Horror As Peter Jennings Drew His Murder Weapon Lyrics 18 years ago
is this about some type of STD?

"biting the carpet" is what made me certain.

before i knew the lyrics i though he said "i'M BITING MY FiNGER AS HARD AS I CAN BUT THE CEILING IS STILL BREAKING."
which makes no sense.

Afroman – Tumbleweed Lyrics 18 years ago
"Your all retards this song isn't fucking Tumbleweed or Colt 45 its fucking crazy rap."

Good call, i was about to say that.

Fear Before – Should Have Stayed In The Shallows Lyrics 18 years ago
which is why they are hypocrites.

this song is clearly alluding to how society and people in general have it lodged in their brain that they can't have fun without getting fucked up.

and if dave wrote these lyrics, either they meant nothing to him or he's a fucking hypocrite.

the third time i saw them, he was like "AUGHhH WERE FeAR BEFORE AND I TOOK A LOTTA ACID."
he was more fucked up than the guys in heavyheavylowlow.

Fear Before – Drowning The Old Hag Lyrics 19 years ago
i don't see the god reference,
because i'm not quite knowledgable or brushed up on religion and it's background.

since i don't feel like looking into this "old hag" syndrome,
i'll give a blindside shot at it.

i think it's mainly about a relationship in which he is completely miserable in.
the other half of the relationship is just sort of there,
it mainly focuses on him and his own problems.

there is obviously a lack of communication and he isolate himself.
to the point in which others worry and stress over him.
once his sanity, or lack thereof, takes it's toll on him he kills himself.

maybe i'm taking the "so i put a hole there" too literally.
"putting the hole there" could mean just something he did,
like spontaneously isolating himself and shutting others out so noticably that he makes it everybody elses problems.

my 2 cents,
keep in mind i don't know where the religious references come into play.

Fear Before – Complete The Utter Confusion… Lyrics 19 years ago
dog sized bird and mouth
are the only songs on 'the always open mouth'
in which the title is in the song itself.
hence in the song "mouth" when he says "the always open mouth" repetatively.

this song is not about jehovah's witness.
at all.

just like the majority of fear before's song lyrics,
this one deals with corperate america, economy, and the media's impact on popular belief.
shocker.

looking deeper into it,
this song very well may be just the title.
confusion.

the line "spare the body before the mind gets the best of" is a sentance fragment.
the best of what?
you?

it reminds me of their song "high as a horse."
people try anything to prevent change once they're content with what they have, like using ritalin as medicine.
a lot of people are afraid of change,
and if they let their mind be free and believe what they truely believe it could go against other beliefs and cause a big mess that they are too lazy to sort out.
so why not just buy something that gaurentees prevention.

"Tell me what it is that you fear the most
Well take it and use it put on the radio"
if the "well" in that line is meant to be a "we'll" then that means that people will make the lamest gaurentees to the general public to prevent something they don't want to happen.

kind of reminds me of the middle ages and the selling of indulgences that promised desperate people that their deceased family members will have a gaurenteed slot in heaven.

anything will be done for profit,
even if the consequences consist of raping people of their individuality.

i'll go back to what i was saying,
it's just complete and utter confusion.
my explanation of this song
doesn't even make sense in my mind.
damn this song is hard.
