ahhhhhalsdfjalksdfjas dk I can relate to this song way too well. So basically this girl has been waiting for this guy forever. I think that he physically is away or something so there is no possible way for her to be with him when that's all she wants to do. All of the waiting is building so much excitemet and anticipation that when they finally see eachother again she is at such a climax from all the waiting that just the act of him simply breathing makes her melt. She is so happy to finally be around him again when she has waited so long to see him. And when she talks about reading him very well I think it means that she really knows him well and thinks about him all the time, probably more than he thinks about her. That's all that I think as for the chorus mostly...for the other parts I'm not sure how it fits in... |

Completely my favorite song at the moment. To me, this song is about a girl who is playing games with a guy and secretly leading him on. She knows that he likes her, and she loves to hear it ("Because you had to know that I was fond of you"). For whatever reason, the girl "isn't allowed" to like him; maybe he is younger than she is or her friends don't accept him. However, she secretly likes him and is afraid to admit it ("One thing I know still got you scared"). Knowing that he likes her gives her control over their relationship ("You always had to hold the reigns"), so now she just has to make a choice about her feelings towards him. Then I'm guessing that the guy took a chance and tried to make a move ("So I took your lips at the time"), but in the end the transition from just flirting to something real wasn't meant to be ("I can see that change was just too hard for us"). So they went their separate ways ("Now, get back on that horse and ride"). Well, thats just my interpretation of this song, and I know that the other interpretations probably make more sense, but I can really relate to this, so I will always end up interpretting it corresponding with my situation. "Fond of Y-O-U" gets me every time! |
