i agree with the prostitute-idea. she played him (not sure wheter he knew that she was a prostitute at that point) and when he calls her a day later he becomes sure of her being a whore. (first verse) middle verse simply about them meeting and their relation. in the last verse, he tries to make her change. jackie big tits would be her real self, hiding that in the corner of her soul. she defies him though. and so he realise that it will never work with a relationship because "you can't push around". |

he and his gf is constantly fightting. "I always seem to play these games with you my dear" but now she has cheated on him, which he thinks is going too far. the "you don't wanna see my ghost" thing is that he feels like he is dead, now that she crushed his heart. he need time alone from her. match box is a good title. both for the fact that she is burning down their relationship and that he is going out with the boys to set the town "on fire" tonight |

i sooo agree with AliasNeo. It's def about two different girls. the old one trying to "shape up to those paper dreams" but failing. she is not the perfect woman since he can't stand that she never get anything done. but then there is this other girl "moving in her own way". he loves her because she is independent and not doing things to please others. she sees him at the concert because she likes him, not because she's asked to. |

it hit me that maybe it's not a physical journey... probably it's about growing up. he feels that he is changing and if their relationship is to hold, she has to grow as a person and stop being childish and frightend of the world. |
