| wow...that's certainly one interpretation...but that's DEFINITELY not the impression I got. I figure it's about a guy that doesn't pay enough attention to his girl. The line that you mention is about how she taught him to love himself...there's nothing sinister about it. The disease he mentions COULD be alcoholism, but I get the impression it's more about the depression he's feeling...or the dependency he feels towards her. | |

"As for the meaning, I believe it's about two people, who have never met, but dream about each other every night - like soul mates." yep, I concur. The line about having his hands around her neck is supposed to be more of a romantic expression...carressing it, not strangling. She passes away because there's nothing left to want, and she's at peace. As for the quality of the song...it took me a REALLY long time to get into Rosenrot, but I absolutely love this song now. I like when they dont stick strictly to German...Te Quiero Puta! is another amazing song that does this. Moskau was an excellent song as well, and it wasn't completely in German. |

The people are apathetic. Even when we protest, we protest like it's a job. "Hey, it's 5 o clock, lets go to starbucks inside the walmart". The song is about pushing everything aside. We shouldn't stand for injustice, but every single one of us is guilty of it. We watch on the news as Africans get murdered, or they're starving to death, while we sit there eating McDonalds in front of the bigscreen tv. I love lifes luxuries as much as the next man, and I dont think this song is saying that they're evil...but when you let them control your life and become apathetic to the evils of the world, then they themselves become the monster. |

It was most likely written about Freddy dying, and Brian getting a divorce and whatever...and the song relates to how men are expected to act in our society. Men often see themselves as being forced to hold the world up, and we cant show any weakness as a result. No matter how much crap hits us, we're forced to take it with a smile. |
