The bassline and repetitive, chanted chorus(es) are great. You can really hear the Fall influence. The lyrics are great, but I'm not gonna lie: I don't get it at ALL. There's a sort of recurring theme of some guy (possibly some sort of outlaw?) hooking up with this girl. A lot of it is clearly deliberate nonsense, though. |

This should probably be organized into seperate lines and verses; it's pretty hard to read as it is. I'd agree that she is probably not a native speaker of English, but I'm not sure that she's Latina, specifically. She could just as easily be Eastern European or something. Of course, while I'm not so sure Chris Murphy's the type to work an ethnic stereotype into his songs, her "cursing him up and down" for "noticing all the little things" sort of fits with the Latin fiery-ness. |
