Joy Division – Atmosphere Lyrics 18 years ago
this is a very sad song. it's pretty much just about Ian discussing all of the wrongs of his life; his illness, his mistakes, his differences from other people all culminating into rejection and subsequent depression. It's a deeply heartbreaking, virtually an auditory suicide note.

KoЯn – Hollow Life Lyrics 18 years ago
it's pretty much just about jonathan's hatred towards God/a society that worships God. Personally, I believe this is one of Korn's best songs; it's one of their best-done songs both lyrically and musically, the latter of which is also profoundly deep.

KoЯn – I Will Protect You Lyrics 18 years ago
Psychotic Penguin pretty much summed it up. I'm very excited about this song, sounds like a once-again musically-serious Korn. Also kind of sounds more like the Untouchables era, which I find very welcoming after the highly disappointing [IMO] See You on the Other Side.

Velvet Revolver – She Builds Quick Machines Lyrics 18 years ago
i'm not even a fan of velvet revolver by any means (kinda hated their first album) but this song is something else. Extremely well done except for some of the lyrics; this song has damn good bridges.

The White Stripes – Icky Thump Lyrics 18 years ago
Just heard it on the radio, and shit, this is awesome. It's definitely what the stirpes said it would be, it's hilarious 70's ridiculous dumb-rock - And i say that in the most awesome way possible. Fuck, Each 'chorus' is a solo in friggin' 19/16. This is way different than the last few albums, guys. This is epic.

Deftones – Mein Lyrics 19 years ago
Lateralus518:

Yeah, this song is a single because it has Serj Tankian. That and because it's pretty catchy and uncharacteristically mainstream for a Deftones song (although it does have those great rhythm changes in the chorus [2/4 to 2 measures of 4/4 to 3/4]).

I personally love this song. As for my interpretation, I'd guess it's just about the awkwardness that can exist between guys and girls.

Everclear – The New York Times Lyrics 19 years ago
Not releasing this song as the first single for Slow Motion Daydream is the single worst mistake that Everclear ever made in their career.

As for the meaning, it's specifically about 9/11 (either about a person, people or just the USA in general), but the lyrics can apply to any relationship.

AFI – Kill Caustic Lyrics 19 years ago
On the other hand, this song could be about drug withdrawal.

Person A may be a few-time user of a certain drug, who didn't get the reaction he was hoping for, or simply does not want to be using drugs. Although he blames himself for taking it (and hates himself for doing so), he criticizes Person B for living such a lifestyle. Person A is experiencing withdrawal effects, and wants nothing to do with Person B.

AFI – Kill Caustic Lyrics 19 years ago
This is how i make sense of this song:

In Verse 1, Person A is talking about Person B, who is doing hard drugs. Person A (who i'm assuming is supposed to be Davey) leads a sXe (straightedge) lifestyle, and criticizes Person B for continuing to use these drugs.

In the bridge to the chorus, Person A explains how Person B blames Person A for his drug use, although he no longer does so, and how Person B continues to use although he criticizes Person A.

The chorus is sung from the perspective of Person B: Although he hates his drug habits, he can't quit, and is blaming Person A, and perhaps criticizing Person A for gloating about how Person B cannot quit.

The second verse is slightly more revealing: Person A tells how he and a group of others started using drugs, but he and many quit. Possibly, Person B is one of those who did not, and branched out to other, harder drugs. Person A goes on about how there was/still is no reason to use those drugs, or any kind.

The bridge basically has Person A telling Person B that he wants nothing to do with him, and doesn't want Person B to keep blaming him for his habits.

Sorry if that sounded a bit anti-drug, but that's what i believe this song is trying to say (Davey is straightedge).
