Jets to Brazil – Your X-Rays Have Just Come Back from the Lab and We Think We Know What Your Problem Is Lyrics 19 years ago
The song, not to put to fine point on it, is about Blake living back in New York. "I've got three years tied to the mast of this town; she's a handsome ship but I'm going down and she ain't coming with me." Look at the time line of him moving back to New York from San Fran, and the song's release. Also, if anyone has ever lived in New York, those images that he paints are the big apple to a t. There is a large amount of uncertainty in all of the Jets songs, and I think that is why so many people can latch on to them. It's all there in song, though.

Jets to Brazil – I Typed For Miles Lyrics 19 years ago
You guys who said Kerouac would be right. The song is about what Truman Capote said of On the Road when it came out, "That's not writing, it's typing." Another little known fact is when the Jets first did this song in Philly with the Promise Ring and then in New York with Modest Mouse, the song was called, I Typed For Miles So Please Don't Write Me Off. That great thing about Blake's lyrics they are so broad that you can take any kind of meaning from them. "You keep fucking up my life" maybe the best ending of a song ever.
