If you ever go through a bad break up, you understand what this song is about. In fact, you understand the entire album Life in a meaning deeper then you ever could have imagined. My ex just broke up with me for my (ex) best friend, and this album kept me going and feeling human and sane. Edsel is competly right when he says "This is Life" at the begining of the album.

Did anyone notice that every one who is anti-bush, thinks its an anti-bush song? I'm not going into detail, but bfcobblerman08 said basically every thing i had to say, but HISTORY HAS A TENDENCY TO REPEAT ITS SELF, and it just so happens to be that bush became president at the time he did. When everyone realises that, and finally does something about it, then maby people will think Bush is/was a great president and that he did the best he could. One of the funniest things is when people say that we need to pull out out troops because people are dying. WE ARE AT WAR. PEOPLE DIE WHEN THEY GO TO WAR! People need to wise up and finally realise that President Bush is doing the best he can right now. Bush just got to be president at the worst possible time, and by that i mean that at least 70% of people are RETARDS. I got lucky, i am in the 30% that isn't retarded. |

was a gimmick. benjaminbreeg.com has the best info, in my opinion, giving a list of possibilities of whom the song is about. Personally, i beleave that the son is about Eddie because Maiden talked about writing a song about Eddie, which also means giving him a background story.
I play many role playing games, which involves creating a background story for characters I create. Basically, with Maidens genius, i believe it is Eddies story, however a painter (i can't remember who) created Eddie, but not for Maiden, they only liked him and made them into he is today.
The only way we will really know is if Maiden tells us, but who knows when (if) that will be. |
