i LOVE the part thats like 'theres no way back, but if there was you'd still be you and id still need to say goodbye'...its awesome because its true...like if it wasnt a good relationship because it obv failed cuz he was a dick or something and why wish for things to be back where they were or for the guy back because he'd still be the same asshole and you'd still end up saying 'goodbye'...thats why i like this song cuz its so true, once an ass always an ass. |

i think its about a friend saying to another friend: i know youre really depressed and feel like a failure and lost the love of your life and thinks 'could it be worse'...but i am here to help you and make you realize that you have to let the person and your mistakes go because you have so much potential and you will soon see how much youre 'worth'. i think its about a friend or loved one just reaching out and giving the person hope and saying i am here to help through the pain. |

two parts i love about this song: when he says "but ill try to say im happy for you" it sounds like hes clenching his teeth or holding back tears, it adds an emotional aspect to that line. and i love the verse where it gets fast and goes 'i cant take this i could never take it back...." sooooooo good! |

i agree with the above comment, and also think its about her on a personal journy to find herself hence the 'its personal, myself and i have got some straightening out to do'...i can relate to her song but it kinda IS about the guy cuz hes an asshole and ruined me... |

as much as i dont believe in god, maybe its about the guy getting into a car accident and god saying 'im there for you and i can be your savior, but some things have to change' and him changing is his response to god saving him in the car accident?...and then with the break up letter verse im not quite sure but maybe its about how he is so upset about his relationship failing but god gives him the strength to 'stand'...im not sure, its a great song but a lil confusing haha |

when i heard this song i immediately didnt over-think the lyrics for a deeper meaning...just like jtosa15 said, its about the hurricane and how as long as they have each other and their love that's all they need and their personal possesions arent as important as having each other, duh people! |

i think hes just madly in love with this girl, as a lot of other guys are. and shell never take that away because whatever she does he loves her reguardless. i think its about him just being really grateful for her love and that she 'chose' him out of all the guys she could have. and he loves calling and hearing how much she loves him and telling her the same. and he always wants to make sure that it is him that she loves. hes kinda insecure but grateful and very much in love....great song. |
