| Lamb of God – Ashes of the Wake Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I'm going to speak the truth, because nobody has. Not many people like war, that's a fact. Because War kills innocence (Not all of which are as innocent as you'd like to believe, they do indeed pick up weapons to shoot at soldiers.) But, like it or not, War is a necessary part of human history, and it will continue to be that way, for civilization to realize a great change, it unfortunatly needs something like a war |

| Godspeed You! Black Emperor – East Hastings Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I live in Vancouver, and I have been down to East Hastings. I have seen the preacher that the beginning speech in this song is supposedly based off of. Personally, I love this song, creepy, very deep and very moving. |

I think this song is about a girl using a man for her own personal gain, but the man knows what's going on, and is trying to get away from her, any way he can. I listen to this song to get over my depression from a break up not to long ago with my ex, who was using me. |

| Papa Roach – Infest Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
God, you guys. Coby said it himself "This song's promising that we will infest. We always start the live shows with it. The chorus is pretty much "We're going to infest/ We're getting in you head." We ask what's wrong with the world today, the government, the media, your family. If you look at the rest of the album, there's a song that has to do with the government, a song about how media affects people and a song about your family. So this one's a opening dialogue; it's meant to open your head up and see what's going on" There's no between the lines BS, so stop trying to act like there is. The song means the band is going to get in your head, end of story! |

To each there own. This song takes on different meanings to everyone who hears it. We all bring in our own outside momeories, wich cause different oppinions. To me (With my family's military background) this is clearly about not so much a soldier, but the military and governmeant. "He's a stranger to some and a vision to none" is how like, when a soldier gets into the army, nobody really knows him, nor do they care about the single guy, hence, "a vision to none" "On his face is a map of the world" to me means like, how each individual soldier travels far and wide to do the mission put in front of them. "On a mountain he sits, its not of gold but of shit" Is more along the lines of the governmeant. The're up there with all the money and power, but really they got nothing, because they spent all the money on war, and the population of any country can rise up against any governmeant, and completley over power "through the blood he can look, see the lives that he took From a count to the one He'll decide when he's done with the innocent" This part is more about the military again, how they kill many innocent people, but it's not really there fault, because the governmeant puts them there. As well as how the Military wouldent be anything without the individual soldiers, but even with them they can't make there own decisions, it's the governmeant who says when the're done. "From yesterday, it’s coming! From yesterday, the fear! From yesterday, it calls him This part to me is about past wars, and how they bring cause to make new technology, to fight future wars, wich in turn make better technology, etc. "But he doesn't want to read the message" Goes right back down to the soldier how they get there orders, they never want to hear them, but they have to. This part could also be about the families, how when a soldier dies they get the message in the mail, telling them the'll never see there son/daughter/Gf/bf/whatever again. This is just my oppinion, aggree or don't, dosent matter to me. I always love to hear feed back on my oppinions so feel free ^^ |

| A Perfect Circle – The Outsider Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think the song is about all the teens out there and emo's who act suicidal to get attention. Claiming the're 'miss-understood' and 'all alone in the world' but at the same time hanging out with like, 20 friends who are all the exact same as them. The song is maynards way of saying they need to smarten up, and there's people way worse than them. |

| Disturbed – Down with the Sickness Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
God, you guys are pathetic. Think about the song, he's not actually abuseing his own mom. this is the classic "live what you learn and learn what you live" message. it could be mother society or an actual mother. either way. the "mother" treated the "child" hatefully and violently. therefore teaching the "child" to live violently with a hate deep inside. madness, be it anger or an insane violent urge is the "gift" given(taught) to the "child" they feel the hate and the urge rising inside of them-"Drowning deep in my sea of loathing" and they give in-"Broken your servant I kneel (Will you give it to me?) It seems what's left of my human side Is slowly changing ... in me" then they see themselves becoming violent and angry-"Looking at my own reflection When suddenly it changes Violently it changes Oh no, There is no turning back now You've woken up the demon ... in me" the madness is a sickness w/in them that is rising up and taking over. the abusing their mother part is the violence they use to take out the repressed hate they have for whoever it was that treat/taught them to be like that. either society or their mother. |
