| Nichole Nordeman – Every Season Lyrics | 19 years ago |

God is not a changing of the season, nor is that what this song is about, unless I do not understand what you mean. Nichole Nordeman wrote this song for a [young] friend who's husband died, and first sang it at his funeral. It was meant to encourage that friend by saying that in every season God is there. Sometimes, people do not understand, myself included, how God can allow such sadness and pain. We can see God in the laughing of children, in the beauty of a sunset, or the bright colors of autumn but how can an all powerfull God, as Christians proclaim Him to be, be in the pain? Sometimes I don't know the answer to this question at all, but occcasionally in retrospect I can see how He was there holding me and comforting me through the pain, and someday, He will end it forever. God is NOT a changing season, but an ever-present friend, and father, who would never abandon us in our grief. He may not take away the pain, but he will not let us suffer alone. The season spring is a promise for a better day, and eventually a promise of heaven. |
