It pisses me off when people take death metal bands lyrics seriosly. If CC were really into all of this dont you think theyd all be locked away for life.....and the satanic aspect, as far as I know no one in metal so far has actually worshipped a devil, its all been a gimmick. People dont go up in arms and want a horror movie banned when it contains gore scenes, the directors of those movies dont advocate what goes on in their scripts just as death metal bands dont advocate what goes on in their lyrics, its all entertainment. PS CC are actually one of the most technical bands in the world today and id like to see any of the haters attempt their music. |

| Hai2u, ok so this is my personal view of hardcore, a type of music that is not mainstream, musically and lyrically likewise, and is there for people to let all their emotions out when listening to it or at a show etc. Now, I personally dont have a problem with love songs, sing all you want about break ups and lovey dovey stuff, but I dont think it has a place in hardcore. When hardcore first came into the scene in the late 80's it was all about hating the government, police and religion, smashing shit up and basically had an anti-authority message in it. I believe this is true hardcore as it has always been more about the lyrics than the actual music, getting a message across and not some dude crying about his love life, leave that to other genres of music ie pop, rock, blues and grunge etc. When parkway came onto the scene in late 2004, their lyrics were different, which was welcome at the time, but now it seems every screamo/punk/metal/hardcore band is doing it. You can have to much of a bad thing! I think its time we got back to the true meaning of hardcore and leave the emo whiners who want to hear songs about break ups and relationships that went awry to listen to their rock/pop/emo music. I know my band, Imprisoned thought, have grown sick of the latest hardcore lyrics and choose to write words that matter and to have a message, our message is our disdain for religion and the concept of "god" and the social misery it causes. But thats just one dudes opinion, you all have your own so please dont attack me with hate comments lol. | |

Hai2u, wat my understanding of this song intitally was, was a break up simply. But in reading the lyrics I personally found that they could mean a guy who starts going out with this girl but then her ex comes back into the picture, she feels sorry for him (cause he might cut himself and cry how much he loves her) and realises where her love lies and leaves the other dude. I found this in lines such as: "The incisions is your wrist were all for show". "So serenade her with your last pathetic suicide love song." "But fools never move on. And now she’s gone because of you" "She said goodbye. So cry me a fucking river, bitch". Will you bleed for me when suicide seems so yesterday?" Etc, but thats just my view of it. |
