| Metallica – Welcome Home (Sanitarium) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is even more relevent in modern times, where many thousands more are being drugged EVERY YEAR, and countless others committed, no small proportion because of drug side effects and withdrawal. Yet psychiatrists continue to bury their heads up their rear ends and blame the underlying disorder. Sure, guys. Sure, 25% of the population needs to be taking drugs. Sure, we're all defective. It's time we say enough is ENOUGH! Give objective evidence instead of vague pseudo-answers, or go away. Even then, that doesn't excuse violating peoples' basic human rights to 'treat them', especially in an inhuman environment. | |
| Sammy Hagar – I Cant Drive 55 Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I can't drive 65 either! | |
| Mors Principium Est – Pressure Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This seems to me to be about a man who continuously lies to himself and attempts to shield himself from pain. He begs for death to take him a way, and eventually gives in, allowing his desires to surface and planning to commit suicide. | |
| Throes Of Dawn – Hyperion Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It's far too late for me too be brainstorming deep ideas about what this means, but it is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. | |
| 50 Cent – Candy Shop Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This is a worthless excuse for a song about fucking bitches by a greasy thug who should be thrown in the sea. | |
| Mnemic – DB'XX'D Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It is indeed a great song. I think it's about child abuse, and how the 'role model' was smashed. Now, the main character, likely the singer, is grown up, and suffering with the idea of feeling betrayed and stranded. Maybe someone else, though. This was just a cursory interpretation. | |
| Gamma Ray – Short As Hell Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| That we have to act fast before things get really bad; that we all think that we have unlimited time but that it's running out very fast. | |
| Gamma Ray – Hand Of Fate Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is such a damn powerful song, it's a pity that it has no comments. I think it's about how people don't take action because they have this idea that no matter what they do, fate will mess them up. This is untrue because people more or less govern their own fate, even if there are some random variables. "Men on the mountain" might refer to those up top who are only concerned with their own financial success, and are destroying society with their greed. "And down below the dark lord awaits...." Seems to refer to what happens to those who do not resist, that they are automatically condemned to destruction because the paths they take inadvertently accept decay. It seems to say that even though resistance is hard, it's a worthy cause. "10000 dreams...." If you use your intuition, dreams, creativity, etc, you can more or less conquer 'fate', hence "awaiting the hand of fate" "Beyond the endless skies" - The sky is the limit, we need to venture beyond the confines of what we see. "Wasted years..." That the years of corruption, rampant materialism, and lies are finally coming to an end, and that eventually we'll be free thinkers geared towards helping humanity prosper and fostering intelligent. "and still we rise" That transcendence does not stop, and that it needs to continue and continue to give life to human beings. All in all, this seems like an ideal anthem for confronting a huge obstacle through great thoughts and great plans. |

| Gamma Ray – Armageddon Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think this is more or less self explanatory. We have forsaken our fellow men and women, and destroyed the Earth and our society with little or no foresight into the consequences of our actions. This could apply to nuclear war, an actual 'judgment day', or something more subtle such as a dwindling of society due to corruption, materialism gone rampant, and economic crises like Peak Oil. Few of us see these things until they happen, and despite warnings (Kai talks about being 'alone', nobody will listen to him). It also seems to apply to greed, how we have 'sold out' to those who desire money above all else instead of providing for others. I guess overall, this just depicts that when things go very bad, people will be in a state of shock, but there will be hope if they change. Nonetheless: "this world is slowly getting cold" seems to refer to a slow decay, rather than a big bang. |

| Arch Enemy – We Will Rise Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It's still good, but Stigmata is the best album imo. Of the new stuff, I like Hybrids of Steel and Mechanic God Creation best. Obviously, it's just an 'anthem of rebellion', or whatever. |
|
| Rapture – Completion Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Actually, never mind. It's "whatever happened You will prevail in one way or another" |
|
| Rapture – For The Ghosts Of Our Time Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think that this song is about looking into a bleak future. "For the ghosts of our time" refers to how we will have passed away, but our actions will still live on. | |
| Rapture – Completion Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
There is a spoken part, which goes something like this: "Whatever happened It will never again you know why? We're done." Anyway, I think it's about something long, draining, and deeply saddening finally being over and peace coming at last. |

| Agalloch – As Embers Dress The Sky Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I believe that this song is implying once again the worthlessness of humanity, and the plight of those who soar above this substandard, simply from the despair of realizing the futility of all that is mankind and seeing the huge scope. And there is a band somewhat similar to agalloch, Throes of Dawn. You'll find that they're missing a lot of the acoustics, but the way the music is composed can be compared to this. Also, for the pure acoustics like 'A desolation song', you might like all my faith lost... |

| Paris Hilton – Do Ya Think I'm Sexy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The answer is no. | |
| 50 Cent – Candy Shop Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| What a bunch of weak shit. If you want something 'sexy', listen to 'Frozen' by Celldweller. | |
| Blink-182 – Adam's Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song actually is not too bad, but it lost a lot of meaning because my musical tastes evolved. I used to love it when I liked music like this, but now, it has no comparison in meaning to symphonic metal like Eternal Tears of Sorrow. | |
| Eternal Tears of Sorrow – Angelheart, Ravenheart (Act I: Before The Bleeding Sun) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This is THE best Eternal Tears of Sorrow song, period. It's extremely meaningful, flowing with emotion, melodic, and powerfal, all at the same time. I believe that entails a battle of good versus evil, and a great hero/angel that is being slain by dark forces, perhaps a parallel to modern society and it's draining effect on those who are deep and strive for massive change. |

| Amon Amarth – Cry of The Black Birds Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I do agree that on the surface it seems little more than a simple, pre-battle rally. To be honest, I feel as though it is also expressing the sorrows of war. The tone of the song conveys this. |
