I agree with Moriarty I believe this song is about the artist Cleansing himself from his past, from his sins, and attempting to live a more Christian life style. "Playing your song I've got to be honest, I tried to escape you But the orchestra plays on" I think that line refers to someone committing a sin, only to realize God will be there in the ladder.
