The album insert with the lyrics to this song have "Allah Akbar" circled in red, and the first line refers specifically to religion as a justification for violence, so I don't see this song as a denunciation of Christians. |

Suprised there aren't more comments about this song. One of Rush's few love songs, and unlike most cliched love song lyrics, it expresses a strong sentiment of the respect and admiration for someone who you you truly place above yourself. I think the lyrics express the feelings of one who wants to emulate the qualities of his partner, but feels he can never become the perfection he sees in his partner. |
