| Amanda Palmer – Strength Through Music Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I feel more bad for the shooter than the people shot. Most people involved in shootings commit suicide. This just enforces the idea that theres something wrong with a culture that creates this sort of monster. I agree that the ticking is the sort of waiting for someone to snap, but the boom at the end is so quiet = you never really see the snap, it just happens. | |
| Amanda Palmer – Blake Says Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"He takes his pills But never takes his medicine" Pills make things go away, medicine helps make you better. For some reason that really made sense to me. Like doctors saying "make him as comfortable as possible" This song makes me insanely sad |

| Amanda Palmer – Astronaut: A Short History of Nearly Nothing Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think its about the troubles of a long distance relationship. The astronaut is far, and you get little bits of love in the form of phone calls or texts or letters (if you like doing that sort of thing) The relationships are always rough, and it gets so easy to not care about the person because they turn into a story or an idea but are never solid, so when they are around its kind of weird. And thats how the relationship ends. and if it doesnt the fighting makes the astronaut only half the person they were in your eyes. Still loved but still only half. I might just think this cause i've been through it :P |

| Marilyn Manson – You and Me and the Devil Makes 3 Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| A thought on the number three: Three is the the holy trinity; Thus, you, me, and sin (the devil) is holy? | |
| Marilyn Manson – If I Was Your Vampire Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It is about when his friend told him to stab her, its on his site. Soooooo excited for june 5th ^_^ The vampirism is ironic. Vampires live in the dark, which is generally associated with all things bad. But in this song the sun rising is the bad part because it separates the lovers. I feel like the vampire situation is all fake, a daydream. In reality there's something painful happening and the vampire is the hero that would overcome whatever was happening. Maybe the vampire's lover died? if i was your vampire... I would save you. I dunno. It's all speculation on my part. |

| The Dresden Dolls – Half Jack Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It could be about unwanted pregnancy...but maybe also the father was a bastard and did a runner? the only thing that doesnt make sense there is the line "i'm half my mother's daughter" its incongruent. | |
| Marilyn Manson – Antichrist Superstar Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| wow, that was a bit of a rant... sorry bout that. Oh, and I was wondering when Manson became emo. As far as I know he's metal, and no more emo than any other band in his genre. | |
| Marilyn Manson – Antichrist Superstar Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
How about a post about the song? "You threw your money in the pissing well You do just what they tell you" This is pretty straightforward, Manson’s referring to his usual idea that people follow blindly doing whatever they’re told to do. “REPENT, that's what I'm talking about I shed the skin to feed the fake REPENT, that's what I'm talking about Whose mistake am I anyway?” Here we see a mockery of Christianity, Repent is a command that you usually hear from churches (no offense but that’s my general experience). The imagery of shedding skin is usually used to symbolize rebirth, and some animals eat the skin that they shed. So, the new generation is taking sustenance (or ideas/support) from the previous generation. It is a copy, and thus fake. This is probably referring to either the music industry or how children these days are fed ideas but not reasons (for example the closed minded people who yell at each other for listening to “Satanist” music like Marilyn Manson) Then he refers to himself as a mistake, another common theme of his (Man That You Fear) "Cut the head off Grows back hard I am the hydra now you'll see your star" The Hydra is the mythical beast from Hercules, (those of you who don't read might know it from Disney) that re-grew its heads when they were cut off. In a sense I am the Hydra means the more you try to get rid of him the more support he'll get and power from that support. I think he refers to himself in the last line as well, in that he is the beast (related to Beast, which is another Christian mockery) "Prick your finger it is done the moon has now eclipsed the sun" The solar eclipse is a time of darkness, and blood sacrifice is the way to seal a spell. “Wishing hell" is another mockery of people’s views of Satanism (aka: "lets worship the devil and join him in hell to be all powerful"). These views are uninformed, but make great material. “The angel has spread its wings The time has come for bitter things (chorus) The time has come it is quite clear Our antichrist Is almost here” This is a continuation of the previous line, so the blood sacrifice would be summoning the angel/antichrist. Saying that the antichrist is almost here is more referring to the people’s mentality. An antichrist was originally someone who didn’t believe in Christ, so what he’s saying is that religions (more specifically Christianity) are loosing their hold on people and eventually no one will believe in Jesus as a savior, thus a collective Antichrist. I’ve got nothing for the angel. "It is done..." Its too late to turn back, the action is completed and we can't stop it. |

| Nightmare Of You – In The Bathroom Is Where I Want You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's the irony of teenagers. Desiring the Ultimate Love, the thing they make movies and songs about, but getting hormones, depravity, and something that is definatly not love. But the experience to be a "gentleman" comes with practice, thus without the time of trial and error there is no way of getting it right. And the whole problem is cliched so it's (once again) wonderfully ironic. Go slow... best advice ever, no one listens. One more time, just for fun: i r o n y :D | |
| Nightmare Of You – Heaven Runs On Oil Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Lovely. Especially since in one of my political rants I ended up practically quoting them. Essentially Oil -> War -> Death. This song makes me happy. | |
| The Dresden Dolls – Delilah Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
So I heard this song, and I hated it. Then I realized it was only because of how personal the story was for me. I do have a tendancy to want to save the world and, at one point, was going out with a guy to "save" him. I was hoping that by loving him I could make him see the answer. "And you thought you could change the world By opening your legs" The entire time I had friends who told me that it was useless and I was hopeless for staying with him. "Oh God, Delilah, why? I never met a more impossible girl" I knew they were right but couldn't stop myself for a long time, so this song is, to me, an internal debate. "You schizos never learn" Schizo can refer to a multiple personality disorder. Which is where I got the idea, I think. |

| Marilyn Manson – The Reflecting God Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"there is a dream inside a dream" No one mentioned that there are beliefs that life is just a dream and when you die you wake up. With that thought, our realities are dreams that we have created in this 'life' which is just the dream of another life. A dream inside a dream. Kindof existential, but a thought. "you'll understand when I'm dead" Most great artists become great after they die. Some of them had fame in life but it was only after they died that the magnitude of their greatness was discovered. Again, it's not very concrete, but possible. |

| Immortal Technique – Dance With The Devil Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I heard the end this song once, and didn't know what it was or who wrote it. I found it again last month and listened to the whole thing and just about cried. Only one thing that bugs me, what is the song in the back? I can't figure out the name. Tech is probably one of the only rappers I like. Ever. | |
