its about how life is so ordinary, so regular and how its hard to escape from everyday life and sometimes you just wish you could get out of you life and live someone elses more exciting life and you wished it was "a temporary life" i live in this highly suburban area and i love this song i live around 20 min from seattle and i love it there.. and i just wish i could get out of this bore of a life and go somewhere else....and escape for a while. |

yeah like you said up there, in sleep well drive carefully they were really hesitant on putting this on the album, because of how vicious it is but obviously it is a really powerful song for many many people i just wanted to note that i heard a live preformance of this, and ben CLEARLY says live instead of: "So one last touch and then you'll go" instead he says, "So one last fuck and then you'll go" obviously those were the original lyrics, and they sounded a tad too bad... so they changed it to touch, it gets the same point over, but less, well...horrible. but with changing that ONE word, it really skews the end of the song when you start to feel sympathetic for both of them..to just that last part "But it was vile, and it was cheap" |
