| The Beach Boys – Surfin' U.S.A. Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Compare with Chuck Berry's "Sweet Little Sixteen" | |
| Creedence Clearwater Revival – I Heard It Through the Grapevine (Marvin Gaye cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It's different songs with the same lyrics in my opinion. I find it hard to say that either of the is the better | |
| The Beatles – While My Guitar Gently Weeps Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I've tried to repress my mind from flowing While my guitar gently weeps. He died in the car and I know you're unknowing Still my guitar gently weeps. These are the original last verse. The rest of the Beatles didn't want George to sing it, since it gave away to much about Paul's death, so they took it out. Naaah, I'm just messing with you, Paul is alive and George was great. |

| The Beatles – While My Guitar Gently Weeps Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I look at you all see the love there that’s sleeping While my guitar gently weeps. I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping Still my guitar gently weeps. Enough said. |

| The Beatles – Dig a Pony Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Well, everyone knows that John was a genious and he wrote lots of songs that had wonderful meanings. But he also wrote a lot of songs that didn't really mean anything for several reasons. Sometimes to provoke and sometimes to annoy and sometimes because he just felt like it, This song is, as some people has pointed out before in this thread, a wordgame simply. But it has one sentence that is true and is the klimax of every verse. "All I want is you" is, of course, aimed at Yoko. My interpretation is that he's singing random words that doesn't actually have any meaning but always return to singing about Yoko. Could this mean that he didn't care about anything except Yoko maybe? He did say that this song was a piece of garbage so he might not even have thought about it so much and just sang what he felt like. |

| John Lennon – Out the Blue Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Great song. Love this part the best: "All my life's been a long slow knife I was born just to get to you Anyway I survived long enough to make you my wife" And don't ever call John J-Len again. |

| John Lennon – Oh Yoko! Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| If you don't like Yoko you don't like John. I love the Beatles. But I love them for what they are and not for what they may have been if John never met Yoko. | |
| The Beach Boys – Sloop John B Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Sugar magnolia is right. The Beatles and The Beach Boys inspired each other quite much especially after mid 60's when Rubber Soul, Revolver and Sgt Pepper came out. Paul's favourite album at the time was Pet Sound. A great example of this is the song Wild Honey Pie from the Beatles' white album. McCartney first wrote the song Honey Pie, which is on the album. Later when they were fooling around they made up Wild Honey Pie which obviously is a hint to The Beach Boys' Wild Honey. |

| The Beatles – A Day in the Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The line that makes me confused is: "I’d love to turn you on." It just sticks out and pokes you in the face. Why? | |
| Stevie Wonder – Don't You Worry 'bout A Thing Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I really liked the opening when I heard it a few minutes ago | |
| Ringo Starr – No No Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| The Beatles – Golden Slumbers Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love when he sings "Smiles awake you when you rise". Sends shivers down my spine. | |
| The Beatles – I'm So Tired Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song brings back memories | |
| Dire Straits – Hand In Hand Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love this song. The second verse discribes my relationship with a girl I'm in love with like nothing else. | |
| John Lennon – Oh Yoko! Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Sheensha's comment was an eye-opener for me. I've never thought of that before. Maybe want he ment was that he'd always love her, even when he's dead. I've never really been satisfied with thinking the line is just about drugs. For some reason I don't fancy the "wandering cloud" interpretation either. It's almost scary how honest this song feels. Straight from his heart. I hope I will love like him some day. |

| The Beatles – Birthday Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
My friends played this to me when I turned 18 a couple of months ago. I will never forget it. I'm having trouble discribing how much I like this song. I've sitten here at the keyboard for about ten minutes and the song is on it's fourth repeat. But I can't put my affection in words. It's a strange song, I mean. It's something about it that just makes me smile. I always get very happy when I listen to it. |

| Carla Bruni – Le Plus Beau Du Quartier Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I don't fancy the lyrics very much, but since I can't speak french very well I don't think about it's meaning. I just listen to her voice and the music. Enchanting. | |
| Sweet – Action Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
The Sweet is definately underrated, I can agree with you on that sarayastar. But don't say they are better than the Beatles. I'm sorry, but that's like saying you are an idiot. I think the second verse is very good for some reason. |
|
| Marvin Gaye – Let's Get It On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Of course it's about sex | |
| John Lennon – How Do You Sleep? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I heard a rumor that the original chorus was: "Paul, how do you sleep?" instead of "Ah, how do you sleep?" Don't know if there's any truth to it but it's a very interresting song. I think classicrockgirl has a point in some way. The fact that John wrote these things about Paul must mean that he really liked him very much for a very long time, and became disappointed/angry with him. My personal belief is that he still liked him but didn't want to like him. |

| The Beatles – Something Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song says it all. In my opinion, one of the very few songs that actually describes love in a way that feels true. | |
