I think this song actually means that when you're in a realtionship, it eventually reaches a point that you can't control your feelings anymore, and it's not in your hands. So just let things happen. Excuse my cliche, but just go with the flow. And to make sure that it's all worth it in the end. My second view on this, is someone losing their virginity, or making love for the first time.
