Ok dudes. I like to think this song is about escaping the harsh nature of society. Drifting of into a sea (it can be a metaphorical sea if you choose) of utter relaxation. A sea that frees you from the stress and responsibilities of every day societal life. From personal experience I can say that an island in the sun is usually a good place to escape to. This is only what I like to take away from it though, probably because I constantly fantasize about escaping the confines of societal life. Gotta love weezer though. |

I think when he says "i can't prepare for death any more than i already have" it could be a suicide warning but also I think it could mean that since he is an alcoholic as well as a drug addict and has other bad habits he has done enough so that dying would come easy by now because of how much he has abused his body. Either way this song is amazing. |
