Rufus Wainwright – Rebel Prince Lyrics 17 years ago
This one is off of Poses, which was when he was partying a lot and living in the Chelsea Hotel. i always thought it was just about him going out every night and sleeping around and then coming home and having no one who actually loved him- what he really wants at the end of the day is someone who "burns for love" for him. It's kinda like Between My Legs...

Don McLean – American Pie Lyrics 18 years ago
The song is very simply about the culture and music of the 60s and their quick decline due to events such as the plane crash, the altamont gig, and charles manson murders; mclean is reminiscing on that time period and wishing things hadn't changed. if you go through it, its loaded with 60s references.

this is a Stiff Little Fingers cover. I've never heard this version, but the original's brilliant

Gang of Four – Armalite Rifle Lyrics 19 years ago
it's not pro- or anti- any group in particular as much as anti-violence, and using Northern Ireland as an example.

By the way... I always heard "Irish jokes on the BBC" I could be wrong, though.
