I think this song is about just being away from the ones you love and how you know you have to be where you are, but you just want to be home with them. Whether it's your family or a long distance relationship, it's hard, and like he says "maybe surrounded by a million people I still feel all alone" that's how it feels sometimes. blah i love this song, i love his voice, he's an amazing singer. |

This poem is so amazing. The music the spoken word of it is just so I don't even know how to explain it. I think it's about what a lot of people have said. About death or losing something or coming to the end of something. It engulfs your senses from the first note of the song. The imagery used in this song is amazing, I love how AFI can take something in words and make you see it with the way they describe it. OOOH My favorite piece of work ever. It's so amazing |

| This song is definitely about telling someone that you've realized that you can no longer trust them anymore and no matter how many times the other person tells you (a thousand words) that you do need them, it's all lies. | |

This song is about knowing that no matter what happens, there's always a bottom, and once you reach that bottom, the only way to go is up. "Don't stop the raing from pouring down, let it wash the pain where it can't be found" is saying that we have to suffer through the pain in order to get where we need to go because if everything is always handed to us and we don't have to struggle, how are we going to learn to appreciate what it is that we have. |

| This is about a relationship where the woman starts the fights and then tries to turn it around and blame the man, saying he's the reason that their relationship is falling apart. | |

| Yep....first reaction too was about prostitution. I like how it starts out at 5 am and then reverts back to 3 am. The Am I Beautiful? Am I Useable part is what led me in that direction in the first place. | |

this song to me (MY OWN OPINION) is that he, at one point wanted to believe in something, whether it be in god or in himself, but for some reason there was something that strayed him from ever believing in whatever it was he was trying to believe in. the line "inside a crumbling effigy, but you promised" that's saying that he's been locked in a shell that has been slowly crumbling around him and he's crying out in a last attempt to believe. and then "so dies all innocence, but you promised me" is where he's letting go and finally realizing that he doesn't have anything left to believe in, that all hope is finally gone. |

I, too, feel that this song has a correlation to Jesus, whether or not the band is supposedly un-Christian as i've seen it put. A lot of what people have said about the wounds and feeling them is exactly what Jesus did. and the whole "if you believe in me how can i be dissolving" and the "if you'd believe me, i'd tell you everything" is the basic principle of what Jesus told his deciples after he rose from the dead. As well as the link back to the "your sins into me" what did Jesus do for us? Die for our sins. However obscure that thought is about that. There's all kinds of different interpretations. And I'm not saying mine is the one thats correct, but it's how I see it. Everyone elses meaning could be right or wrong. I just go back to the fact that the first time I heard this song it a automatically set off an alarm in my head that was saying wow this is kind of like related to Jesus. |

I found this song attached to the hidden track on Sing The Sorrow, of course it was downloaded, and not from the actual album but I don't know if it's on Sing The Sorrow. This is my favorite thing ever....It's amazing....the words and the music accompanying it is amazing. It's basically just telling of love that is ending and sorrow and all the emotions that you feel when you lose someone . It's so powerful and it just engulfs you in the emotion that it's portraying. After this little poem ends, on the particular song I have, it goes into the hidden track, This Time Imperfect and it's such a great combination. I don't know how to explain it, if you have never heard it, i highly recommend finding it, it's sometimes called "The Poems". It's Lovely!!!!!!!! |

This Song is AMAZING, Definitely my favorite off of Decemberunderground. I feel that this song is just that, it's about Love. The character in this song is saying that in their heart, their love is cold and barren, but at the same time, they're welcoming and luring anyone in (press your lips to the sculptures and surely you'll stay, for of sugar and ice i am made). With the "Warn your warmth to turn away" they're telling their new prospect that their love is cold. in the chorus, the character is saying that you know who you're going to fall in love with from the very beginning, before you're born...but that you may fall in love on several different occasions, and each time you do, you'll compare that person to the previous loves (he bit my lip and drank my war from years before) the second verse is just another character falling in love again and being compared to someone else. "por siempre" literally means "FOR ALWAYS" but usually the literal translation is incorrect, in this particular instance the female is telling the male that she knows that he'll forever be cold and distant because he may never find his one true love. |
