i agree with a lot of these on here except that i always felt the line "We drank wine in the matinee and the spotlight showed what I chased away" was saying something like: the sadness or something that he tried to "chase away" with alcohol and ladies and things was always apparent when he was on stage and performing and everything. that might be really lame but that's what i always thought. then the chorus, to me, is separated into two parts... certain parts show how the relationship was before the supposed infidelity occured and certain parts about after... "She saw my comb over, her hourglass body" - he showed her things about himself that were really private to him; the hourglass body shape is a lot of times seen as the most sexual kind of body shape... this part is before "she has problems with drinking milk and being school tardy" - probably refers to oral sex. if a girl doesnt swallow it sometimes shows a lack of intimacy in the relationship and problems with being school tardy meaning she doesn't like to stick around after... after the cheating "She'll loan you her toothbrush" - she'd do a lot of stuff for ONLY him... before "she'll bartend your party" - then after, she'd do a lot of stuff for a lot of people |
