This is such a beautiful song. It makes me want to cry whenever I hear it, but I listen to it anyway. It's like a mix of The Leaving Song, Endlessly She Said, Silver and Cold, and Morningstar. It should have been on Decemberunderground. He said "I’ve now stayed too long here." "Goodbye" She said, "I’ll wait here for you." He knows the winds carry sorrow As they leave, she'll follow They leave tomorrow I think that is about the "he" commiting suicide. The "she" cannot live without the "he" and is ging to commit suicide as well. |

The video for this song explains a lot. The band starts out playing in a a dark alley, in a kind of blu-ish light. and the band is covered in black paint. then there is a girl dressed in a long coat and she has bright blue hairand is pale. there's also a large rabbit, which starts out red. the girl and the rabbit travel to another "world" by walking past jade, the guitarist. the other "world" is pink and bright and there is flowers and trees and long grass everywhere. the rabbit has turns blue. the girl is wearing bright clothes, and has an animated look to her head. she has huge eyes and very bright hair, which might explain the title, girls not grey, because the girl is definatley not grey. the rest of the video the band is seen playing in the two "worlds". there are clips of them playing in both of the "worlds". at the end, the rabbit kind of evaporates into a bunch of flower petals or feathers, and as that happens, the girl dissappears, and davey looks like he's throwing up a bunch of feathers or flower petals in the dark blue-ish alley. i also noticed: "this art does drown" they have a cd called the art of drowning. i thought that might have something to do with it. "I'd send God's grace tonight Could it be found?" could God possibly not be able to find the grace that davey sent Him.. I agree with TurnDownTheSun. lots of their songs are about death and dying. like silver and cold. in the video he almost commits suicide, and in love like winter, he drowns. also miss murder, he sings about taking his life. |
