Well, it uses the act of murder to show the psychological aspects of crime, sin, and guilt. One is obviously very nervous about the act; the other pretends to be almost cool about the whole occurence by taking charge, however seems paranoid is merely trying to soothe his own conscience. Basically the song goes to show murder doesn't pay in the end as the murderer becomes the victim of his own fear and folly. It will probably destroy him one way or another (like the Tell-Tale Heart or the Black Cat by Edgar Allen Poe). |
