this is my favourite too. i was scared to listen to this ep at first but i'm delighted to see that even after all these years sufjan still has what it takes to amaze me. I like the odd sounds in the beginning of this song. (I think he's lighting a match or something..) Ahh, Ians' voice gives me an eargasm. Almost every time I hear it. Joy Division is like a drug for me... the more I listen to it.. trrr... the 'hungrier' I get. For me the meaning of this song.. uumm.. I think it's about which choices you make in life.. like when you have a dream.. you should make everything you possibly can to make it happen.. you should live it out.. as close as you can get.. otherwise you'll always think of the things 'that might have been' and you'll never find peace.. it will haunt you.. otherwise you're just throwing your life away... and even if you don't succeed, then in the end, you can still say that atleast I tried.. but that's just my point of view |

| Ian was like soooo much ahead of his time. He's a total genius. Even today you can relate to these lyrics so easily. There's always a war, or a fight or smthng like that, because some people are so greedy, evil, dumb...etc. And the ones who actually fight, the ones who actually get hurt or die are usually ordinary people who love their wives, people who will usually feel bad for the bad things they've had to do, they have to live with that burden(the thought that you've killed a person.. for me.. it gives me the creeps.. it must be awful). And this song brings it out perfectly. Well, atleast for me it does. | |

I fell in love with my boyfriend when this song was playing. And this is the first time in my life that the feeling is so REAL. For a while I thought that it's not possible, I thought, that people just pretend for different reasons. Every time I listen to this song, it reminds me of him. He also likes TPS. It kinda' was the reason we met. The song is great. I love it. And I love him, with every lil tiny piece of my body. It may sound a little corny, but I think will always love him. No matter what. Well, but now I'm just babbling again, sorry. Anyway this song is very important to me. And.. there IS truth, that love is real! |
