Sam's not entirley right or wrong.. But don't go about acting like Zion doesn't know his history It doesn't state anywhere in the song that the attack was due to religion. The Vikings did in fact loot churches purely for the promised loot, (gold, silver plates, jewels, silver crosses) but they also did loot to destroy the threat of Christianity. In my opinion this is either a group of very brutal vikings imposing a no tolerance to resistance, plundering all they can, and knowing their gods are proud for their actions. OR it's a group a vikings whose common choice of action towards christians is total destruction, looting, and they believe they're saving their gods for doing so. |

Seriously, no one has commented this yet? First song on the first album.. And it’s simply amazing. Especially the intro. But like most of their work it’s heavily metaphorical and I can’t get an idea of what they’re referring to.. Very good song though. :] |

I agree with The Opressed1 about "One we were scum of the Earth." Also, "Baptized in Mount Doom's flames" grants sense to both. Since Amon Amarth means Mount Doom. |

"This desire in murdering the slaves of Christ." I can't believe they cut out Christ from that on the video.. Art should never be edited. "Give to me your blood like a sacrament" Those were the lyrics given on the official site. But the line is clearly "like a fucking sacrament." This is also edited from the video. Goddamn assholes take great songs and burn holes in them to defend children and whatnot, who would obviously never listen to bands such as Goatwhore. Let alone understand the content of the lyrics. All in all it's a great song. Goatwhore's new work is simply amazing. |
