my wife and i basically fell in love to this song...years went by, we both screwed up but make no mistake we truly loved each other. now she is gone and somehow, this song means more to me because she is indeed gone, and i miss her...apparently she just got tired of me or never loved me as i did her :-( |

so yeah, i was reading all the comments on this song and happened to notice that the ppl with tool-like screen names happen to dig it and understand it better (hehe, no surprise there huh?) anyway brent singing any song with that voice makes ALMOST any song bettrer, this song being one that falls into that category. they are truly one of the best bands of todays era |

Austin was a great wrestler b4 he decided all he had to do was punch, stomp, and then throw a stunner in at the end. If I hear one more person make a claim that he was the best wrestler of all time I think I will puke!!....song is awesome though. I dont care what some biography they put out said. It's just their clever way of disguising the true meaning of the song, just like the devil is disguising what he is really doing in the song. It is definately about the devil tempting and attracting someone, end of story. Btw Black Sabbath is more than their name it was something they believe/believed in. |

BEST SONG BY METALLICA OR ANYONE ELSE EVER, PERIOD!! It is not up for discussion. To the retards who don't realize that your ears could never hear anything better than this, I truly feel sorry for you. The riff during "No one but me can save myself but it's too late (and so on)" literally makes me feel like i could fly! If anything ever comes even close to that i think my head would explode. This song has the best acoustic parts, headbanging parts(take your pick, you should be able to tell what mine is), and lyrics of any song b4, during, or after the era in which it was written. Yeah, that includes everything btw for some of you who are obviously intellectually challenged. I guess i really shoulda left it like blue heart says, words are not worthy of describing the greatness of this song and there is no word for the feeling i have when i hear it. If you will take the time to notice, my profile on this site is completely empty (or should be anyway) cuz i only created it to post about Fade. As far as meaning goes, whether or not it was written after the amp got stolen is irrelivant, that could only be inspiration of a dark feeling to put a person in the mood to write a song with these lyrics. One way or another it's about death. For some it can be about suicide, that easily links to the lyrics and i dont need to use an example if you have actually listened to this masterpiece. However, you could also look at it like someone accepting and even being happy with the fact that they are dying. Maybe even in a religious sense hmmmm?? I mean, if I'm dying and I know I'm going to Heaven, death is definately greeting me warmly (not that Hell wouldn't greet you warmly as well, just in a different sense) Either way you look at it, it gets no deeper and no better than this song, bottom line!! As much as i have written here, I haven't even began to scrape the surface as to what this song means to me. I feel like I should be writing more but there are no words in existence that can help me. To all you true Metallica fans, let the haters hate and masturbate while the rest of us get our kicks listening to the greatest piece of music ever written. I bid u all a fond farewell....and I think I'll listen to this song another time or two (or twelve) b4 goin to sleep. :-) |
