Yea, This song is based of of what MCR feels which gives this album a theme. This song is saying how the patient is dying and as MCR has said it before, they say 'death' comes to people in their greatest memory. The memory of the patient was a parade he saw in city. They called it the black parade because he was dying, clearly. Yea this site isn't about judging, its about what you think the song is meaning. People sharing their ideas about it to figure it out. Well, first of all, it's not cause the song is too long, no offense lol. They've played American Pie on the radio many times without cutting parts out, people would be pissed if they did. Take a second look at the radio edited version. If you read it carefully enough, it's all about sex. I completely agree with emo annie, the song is towards two different people's opinions. This song is sung about one of Third Eye Blind's friends. On one of their good friends birthdays, they took him out skydiving because his fear was of heights. He wanted to fight his fear so he went. It was the whole point of it, and their just happened to be a skydiving accident that day and the lost their friend. This song was made to their friends. They feel it was their fault that he died, and they're trying to show them that it's ok and accidents happen. That's basically the chorus "put the past away" The second part is to their friend which is most of the verses such as this part..."you're the first to fight, your way to loud, you're a flash of light on the burial shroud"... "Everyone's got to face down the demons Maybe today, we can put the past away" That I think is both, it goes from the friend in the accident right to them. He faced down his fears and now they should by letting it go. |
