I always thought this song was about Layne Staley's uncontrollable drug addiction. Turns out Jerry Cantrell wrote it about a girlfriend he had. Regardless the lyrics and the melody are both haunting and beautiful. Staley's voice is eerie and calming, to me, all at the same time. |

I think the song is appropriate to the movie. When they dance, it had never happened before. In Sandra Bulloch's character's past, Keanu never knew who she was. But after they started exchanging letters, he knew where to "find" her. So when they danced, it was something which truly "never happened before." This is one of my all-time favorite songs. I believe it is one of McCartney's best and he's written alot |
